PNC is awesome, I tell people that Pitt. on a nice weather day is one of the most naturally and architecturally pretty cities in America. They laugh and dismiss it as a ugly industrial city from their own ignorance.
The problem is there are not too many nice clear days.

I agree having it in the bottom 5 is a joke.
No, its about right.
You can take escalators UP before the game, but after the game they don't let you take them DOWN (instead you have to take a VERY VERY long winding ramp).
Plus it takes forever to get to your parking spot.
It's ranked near the bottom--just like the team is most years.

I thought my observations/predictions were easy to make. Anyone who would debate that Oakland and TB have the two worst stadiums are pretty clueless...those were pretty obvious.
I didn't think Pittsburgh would be #1...I thought that would go go SF. I guess I am lucky...I have been to the 2 best parks...and the 2 shittiest parks...all in one lifetime.

I've only been to #2 and #4. The San Fran stadium really is that awesome.

Idk I think it's easily the worst stadium i've ever been to in my life, the only redeeming quality is AC. I didn't think anything would be worse then Sun Life for me until I moved here to Tampa

Putting the Ballpark in Arlington at 26 is terrible. It's a nice park. It's middle of the pack.
It's kind of a shitty list. He puts a lot of stock into meaningless things.

Comment: Why does the Rangers’ ballpark rank so low? Let’s count the ways: 1) It’s too big, like so many other things in Texas
So its bad to have enough seats for big crows? Its not like tons of seats are miles from the field. I've sat just about everywhere and the upper decks are no worse than other ballparks I've been to.

2) It’s too hot, like so many other things in Texas, because it has a southeasterly orientation for no good reason,
for day games it sucks in certain areas b/c of the sun.
other than that? meh. dude is a wuss.

That's my favorite part of the park. Its a nice nod to the old school stadiums its inspired by.

4) It has had about 17 different names over the last two decades.
its had 3 so...
I guess you could say 4 if you count when it was Rangers Ballpark at Arlington instead The of Ballpark at Arlington.
I don't get his complaints at all. If you are going to rip on it I'd complain about it being off in a field in Arlington with no light rail, bus lines, restaurants, or bars in the area.

Well he also knocked on the Marlins park for the whole taxpayer thing. While obviously a shitty Loria move, is it something you consider when just ranking the best ballparks?
So his criteria for these rankings is kind of all over the place.

Yeah, gotta put aside any convoluted love & hate feelings for Pittsburgh teams, because that park is true. Also had batsh#t fun both visits.
Watched All-Star Game there from a box, where only a few people were really paying attention. I sat down next to one of them to watch along & it was Buck O'neil.

It's pretty bad. I like going to games there, though. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure.

Dodgers Stadium is way too high and KC could be higher.
Of the stadiums I've been to:
1. Royals
2. Padres
3. Astros
4. Angels
5. Rangers
6. Braves
7. Marlins
8. Dodgers
9. Rays

My first ever mlb game was at Arlington in the ballpark's first year. I was 14, and I could tell it was a fake old park. I didn't hold it against them, though, since the place was nice.
I didn't go to Camden until a couple years ago, and though I know it was built in 1992, the place had me fooled into thinking it'd been there since before the Browns moved there.
By the way, surely I'm not the first person who notices that two teams called the Browns moved to Baltimore?
Arlington is a neoclassical ballpark. I'll put all the neos into three categories: "Real," "Fake," and "Haven't been to this one yet."
"Real" (that is, I "believed" that this park was 100 years old):
Baltimore
San Francisco
Pittsburgh
Cleveland (not that it's hot stuff, but I bought it)
Cincinnati (I actually enjoy the view of Daniel Boone country)
"Fake" (a new ballpark wearing too much obvious old ballpark makeup)
New York
New York
Washington
Philadelphia
Arlington
Haven't been to yet:
Saint Louis
Detroit
Minneapolis
Denver
San Diego
Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Phoenix, Houston, Kansas City, Chicago, Chicago, Milwaukee, Saint Petersburg, Miami, Atlanta, Toronto, and Boston all have parks that is consider something other than "neoclassical."

Nats park is great as far as an entertaining experience, but it def doesn't have a "ballpark" feel and a good bit of people don't really care about watching the game
Petco is awesome, great location and great fan experience. Big time military presence
Wrigley is like none other to me. Greatest ballpark experience by far

The writer admits that his criteria are probably inconsistent, and he's definitely open-minded, but it warts me that he uses symmetrical field dimensions against White Sox Park; Old Comiskey was always symmetrical. Symmetry/asymmetry is not a factor for me.

After visiting Kauffman in KC and then Busch in St. Louis earlier this summer, to have Kauffman 8 spots higher is a joke.
Mostly because there's nothing around it, whereas Busch is in downtown with plenty to do and a great view of the Arch.
I know that's not the stadium itself, but he mentions the surrounding areas and views for several other stadiums, so it's obviously part of the criteria.
I've also been to Wrigley, Safeco, Dodger Stadium, Fenway, Minute Maid, and whatever Texas is calling theirs these days. I think Dodger Stadium is too high, but the rest are about right.
