Judge has a couple inches and over 40 pounds on him... Judge is built like a LB.... Stanton has gotten a lot of hype for his power but a lot of that has been surpressed due to his injuries.

There's an outside chance that Judge hits 60 home runs this season. You tell me?

Looks like Judge has an inch on him. He's definitely heavier though.

I never said they were the same. Just that Stanton came to mind. Young, huge and can crush the baseball.

Pretty nuts that the Astros have three of the top four AL MVP favorites and are a long shot to win the MVP.

If he played for a mid market team ESPN wouldn't be sucking this dudes dick like they have been. He is a Yankee so he gets the hype. He is having a phenomenal season though.

If Springer can finish the year with a .315 ba and 40+ HR from the leadoff spot, not to mention 100 RBI and 100 runs scored it would be hard to argue against him as MVP.

When have we seen a young slugger of his stature?

He's like a 25yo rookie. He's not really "young" in the sense that he's not physically matured into his 6'7 frame and is still budding into form or anything like Giancarlo Stanton or Bryce had to do as rookies.

Bryce is still only 24 and is already over a handful of seasons in the league. He will be a HOFer.

The athletics rookie record is 49, so the 29 which is tied with dimaggio, is not yet a big deal west of the hudson.

Technically Oakland is not a small market. 3 counties with 5 million people can take the train, bart. Their use of radio is amazingly bad. Los gigantes can be heard all around the bay. Not the As.

The Bay Area has less than 8 million people in it. The 5 boroughs alone have 8.5 million. The NY Metro area is almost 24 million. The two really aren't comparable in terms of market size.

He would obviously still get attention with these numbers no matter where he was, but nowhere near what he's getting in NY. I mean Trout still doesn't get the attention he deserves imo. Trout in NY would be incredible.

There's nothing wrong with this...just how it goes.

That said does the fact he is on the Yankees increase the hype for him?

He's gonna hit 50+ home runs and likely will be the AL MVP...as a rookie.

He's also gonna set the all-time rookie record for homers and slugging %

Dude's legitimately one of the best rookies ever in the major American professional sports leagues.

If he keeps that average up over .320, his obp over .420, hits 50+ home runs, drives in 120+, and continues to play good defense the dude has a season for the ages

So you would give Springer the MVP with those numbers over Judge with better numbers

Slow your roll. 1 1/2 great seasons doesn't make you a hall of famer.

He can only get better, he's extremely young, and he's already a fantastic 5 tool baseball player. "The ceiling is the roof" for him.

Playing for the Yankees is absolutely an advantage to getting the media attention he has - with that said, he rightfully deserves it.

At the same time, I think players like Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt should be getting the proper accolades and clearly playing for COL and ARI have prevented proper recognition.

Not at all but when your hit and power tools are as good as his are right now, it doesn't really matter
