Worst announcers are whoever calls 12:00 kickoffs for the Big 10 and the Big East.
I like the 230 ABC crew, the 230 CBS crew, and the ESPN prime time crew. Production value and announcers are usually pretty solid.

Apparently Gary and Verne like no one in the SEC. I've heard fans from Auburn, UGA, Tenn., Alabama, etc, etc say that CBS Gary and Verne "hate" their team. If you think that crew is the worst, them you obviously haven't watch any college football games that start before 2:30.

I know my initial reaction to Gary and Verne is because of my LSU bias but I can usually get over it. They really just piss me off in whatever game I watch. Even the Navy/ND game which I could care less who won I found myself getting pissed at Gary.
I do agree about women announcers don't like them. Other than Lisa Guerrero who did NFL for a season and is a stone cold fox.

I think some of the issues the SEC fans have with the CBS crew is that when they mess up with a tidbit about your team, you immediately recognize it because it is your team.

I actually like Gary until he goes off on some stupid tangent while ignoring the big picture. For example, he will be having a major debate with himself over whether or not a ball was knocked loose before a runner was down, completely missing the fact that the ball broke the goal line before the runner lost control of it. Verne is awful and needs to be put out to pasture though. He has been senile for 6 or 7 years now.
