'When I see all the room on the pitch, it’s like Christmas to me. When we train, the width of the pitch is a little shorter, so I was like, "I can run all day around these guys".'
Having missed out on London 2012 Isles may yet get the opportunity to compete at the Olympics when Sevens returns at Rio 2016.

My DVR recorded part of the seven's recently and I saw one of the matches the USA played and Isles subbed in. I didn't get to see him really do much in that match but they were definitely talking him up. Now I see what the fuss was about, that kid is fast as hell.

Yeah, Boyd is still with us. 
We have a few guys with similar speed to him but not the field vision he has. Heard NO might come over to the TRU next year.. Truth?

We thought about doing it this year, but stayed in the South, which turns out to be a huge mistake now that Charlotte has dropped out of D1. Now we're stuck with 3 teams and USA Rugby declared that our #2 seed will have to travel to the Midwest. Life is surely #1, we plan to beat the Gades for #2 seed, but now 2 or 3 is irrelevant if have to travel.
We did just complete a mini-tour of Texas a couple weeks ago, defeating HARC and Woodlands.
I belief USA Rugby is getting entirely restructured next year to where we have to play in Texas no matter what we choose. I'd prefer if we can keep our 2nd side in the South though. Less travel (Baton Rouge, Mobile, Jackson, Memphis, etc.)

Yeah, from the outside looking in, the South looks to be a big mess.
What kept yall from joining this year? Im looking for someone to come in and put the Blacks in their place.

D'oh! I guess that's what I get for not really reading the thread before posting, ya'll aren't talking about Habana.
Isles does look good. I hope one day though USA can be competitive in 15s and not just focused solely on 7s. Even though I'd agree 7s is probably the best way to grow the sport here.

I think Tolkien has the XVs side going in the right direction and we will soon start to see an improvement. Beating Canada on a consistant basis is key to long term growth.

is the pitch the same size in sevens as in the 15s? I know for a lot of people more scoring = more fun, but as shown by what Isles can do (and I'm sure there are others like him) it just seems a lot less...Rugby-ish? if that makes any sense. I know I'm new to this sport, but it just seems like there is a lot more skill and strategy for 15s over 7s not just spread the field and get it to the uber fast guy.

Same pitch. 7 per side instead of 15. Thus a whole lot more space. That's why the games last only 14 or 20 minutes instead of 80, because it's pretty much a sprint pace the whole time.
