Words cannot describe how stupid the Lakers' FO would be to tank for two years and free up a ton of cap space only to blow it on Rajon Rondo.

This seems like a move they would make for no other reason than to please Kobe. Hell, I would be more than happy to roll with Clarkson next year after the way he played in the second half of the season.

Yeah I could definitely see Jim pulling some knee jerk bullshite move like this when everyone is calling for his head.
LA needs to hope for a top 2 or 3 pick in the draft and continue building with flexibility. There's much bigger fish on the horizon than Rajon fricking Rondo. Pairing Westbrook and Love should be their main priority imo.

NBA basketball is passing guys like Rondo by. Any team that signs him is going to be extremely handicapped, offensively. He's been bad defensively for a while too.
I LOVE when my team plays a PG who can't shoot, especially when he can't get to rim either. And if Rondo happens to get to the rim, just foul him, he's an awful FT shooter.
The only way Rondo can be successful is if you put a team full of shooters around him. Problem is, he's not good enough to build your franchise around him.

if we can get a pick around 3 and end up with justise winslow, and then sign kevin love, we roll into next year with a starting line up of

and we are already ahead on the rebuilding process. its a small lineup but i like it. then all we need to do is wait for russell

100% agreed. Rondo does nothing for the Lakers next year and there's no way you build around him as a no.1 or no.2 on a championship team.
I really like that potential lineup you posted and it's quite feasible.
