Beverly? I don't get the use of him in this context. Team player. Works his arse off. Opposite of smith. And as others said it is low risk. If smith does as u say the rockets dump him and lose nothing.

I do find it interesting that McHale got an extension today too. Like he barged in there and was like yall aren't firing me if this Josh Smith signing blows up in our faces.

I don't see how people can call this a bad move... Low risk with huge potential

I think there's enough leadership on the team to keep Smiths jumpers in check... And a Josh Smith who doesn't take long jumpers in an all-star level basketball player.

You hear that on Simmons podcast? I laughed a bit when I heard Simmons say that the Pels roster outside of Davis is "tragic".

Plus it is a 1 year deal. Meaning he is in a contract year.

he Rockets just violated the only one dumb arse rule man. Y'all already have Beverley, so that's you're one dumb arse. You can't have two and win a championship. Cause the two dumbasses are bound to get in trouble. Watch, Beverly and Smith are gonna have a "chose one" moment before the end of the season. Hope y'all go get Swaggy P too.

Bingo i think we have a winner

@ESPNSteinLine: As covered here last night, Houston guaranteed that Josh Smith would be a starter, essentially clinching the Rockets as Smith's choice

@ESPNSteinLine: Hearing today teams were told Josh Smith would ONLY consider teams offering him a starting spot, essentially reducing choice to HOU vs. MIA

Getting a player like this mid year for basically nothing...this stuff doesn't happen.

Dwight
Smith
Ariza
Harden
Bev

D-MO
T-Jones
Brewer
Terry
Papanikolaou
Canaan
Black

All of a sudden our bench is so deep.

No kidding. Brewer came in against Portland and looked like he's been playing on this team for years. If Smith can fit in, watch out. Low risk, very high reward.

I love this move as well. Perfect for a team like Houston. Absolutely perfect.

Brewer looked awesome last game. One problem with the Rockets offense this year was they weren't running on the fast break.

Brewer gets out in the open floor super quick and gets a bunch of easy buckets. Like a spark plug off the bench that got the offense going.

I'm not even going to lie. I was really upset when we struck out for Bosh. It seemed like the Rockets suddenly lost Parsons and had no way to get a bench. Now we are one of the deepest teams in the league.
