Why won't Colt McCoy be successful in the NFL?

I am just curious why people don't think Colt will be very successful at the next level.

He seems to have the tools:
decent arm, good pocket mobility, ability to scramble if needed, tough kid that plays with a lot of heart, proven winner, etc.

But when everyone discusses college QBs and the draft, people always disregard him and say that he won't be very good.

I would just like some solid reasons on why he won't do well.

What makes you think he can be successful?

because he was a Heisman. Texas is a very talented team and McCoy has one of the best wild receiver.
If you watched the Big12CG, McCoy looks like an average QB when his WR was covered the whole time.

He's put up great numbers for 4 years with average receivers.

I think Shipley is great, but one good receiver isn't responsible for the last four years.

I'm kinda perplexed too. He honestly reminds me a lot of Steve Young.

Well for 1, he never takes snap under center

for 2, why did anyone say he WOULD be successful?

is it because he plays in the Big 12 where the only decent defense is OU and Neb where he really lit it up

a knock against is he isn't from the pro style attack he is running the spread.

However his accuracy is great and he can run pretty dang well so i think he can be good

McCoy seems to play a lot like Jeff Garcia. He gives up his body rushing with the ball and taking a lot of hits in college.

He is alot like Drew Brees in college.

He runs the spread attack. he is always in the gun. He has receivers running all over the field. he knows how to step up in the pocket.

Below Average arm, he's probably about 6'1, plays in an offense that exaggerates his stats.

Because Jason Campbell, Brodie Croyle, Rex Grossman, and Jamarcus Russell have just been tearing it up lately...
