Can you not bitch about the shitty parts of a game that you enjoy? I enjoy soccer, but I don't think anyone enjoys these fairies falling all over the place like they've been shot every time they are touched.

It's really just a Latin/south American thing for the most part...not all teams have a flopping problem

Are you talking about soccer players or NFL receivers?

Its worse and I like soccer to an extent. I watched the mexico game and it was horrendous. Those guys were flopping around like fish out of water. Then of course two minutes later they are back running up and down the field like nothing ever happened.
I say when they do that crap and hurt so bad to writher around on the ground stopping play they should have to go to the bench for at least 5 minutes and that team play a man down.

You can do whatever you like. Just find it funny if it's hard to watch with all the other options out there it'd be the choice of programming. Gluttons for punishment I suppose.

I don't like the diving. I don't think it then equates to pussy sport and raped by mike Tyson and make it a stupid tourney as this thread started. There are plenty things I wish would change about the game but incessant bitching about does what?

I am no more than a casual soccer fan, but flopping in soccer seems to me to be insanely stupid. In a game that is a constant battle of position, laying on the ground trying to draw a penalty seems to put your team in a bad position.

I don't really mind the flopping, most of the time it seems like they are just trying to catch a breather. It's not any worse than the NBA, QB/punter in the nfl.

Only sport I see without it is hockey, and I honestly don't watch enough to say it doesn't happen there

I'm from a -10k population mountain town and even we had a soccer league, so I get the sport-just not the hair gel drama. There's not enough refs to see the bullsh#t, so players exploit it. I watched today for about 30mins, and in that span saw an absolutely perfect 50yd pass/header/goal, and an absolutely Bette Midler acting job on a flop. I'll stick with hockey for my international favorite.

I think putting someone on their arse in hockey is encouraged not a penalty so flopping would be dumb

There is a "flop" rule in soccer. You are supposed to get a yellow card for it. Most of the time it happens too quickly for the ref to determine if it's 100% a dive. It's easier to tell when you can sit on your couch and watch 5 replays of it. It's also not like basketball where a ref is always within 10-15 feet.
