I think there is a double standard for the SEC (and I'm a SEC fan).

These teams stink or are quite mediocre:

Vandy
Kentucky
Mizzou
Texas A&M
Tennessee
Arkansas
Florida

That's more than half the conference.

I don't think South Carolina is any good either.

But the SEC does have more elite teams:

MSU
Bama
Auburn

Same here. There definitely is, whether it's that well deserved or not would be the question

People didn't think Auburn was good midway through last year. They were coming off a pretty dreadful 2012.

At this point last season, Auburn had beat Texas A&M. People started to take notice.

Maybe they took the conferences records against one another into account?

Well you said started last year. Also in your Colorado example, Colorado does suck, they are 2-6.

After watching this game, you don't think LSU would easily run it down Duke's throat? LSU would destroy this Duke team.

Where is this hypothetical Duke game at?

Duke is better than Florida so I think they'd win at home but get crushed in Death Valley.

Let's say Oregon won a close by one to...... Colorado. SEC fans every where would scream that it wasn't just a bad showing and that Oregon sucks themselves.

But they did win a close game against Washington State and everyone forgave them for it.

Also, Arizona hasn't improved all that much from the UTSA game. They completed a Hail Mary against Cal to win. You can try to relate them to 2013 Auburn all you want, but at least Auburn was doing all of these things against teams with a pulse.

is this a serious question? The SEC is light years ahead of the rest. It's really that simple

There is no double standard. Go look at non-conference wins against the Power 5 conferences. SEC is by far better than everyone else and the Big 10 is one of the worst this year.

Just looking at all OOC records:
SEC west has 0 non-conference losses.
SEC east has 3 non-conference losses, one of the to #4 ranked team.
Big 10 has 13 non-conference losses.

Over 4 times as many.

Doesn't hurt that the SEC in conference losses are predominately against teams ranked in the top 10, or even top 5.

The CFP rankings have the SEC ranked 1, 3, 4, 6, 11, & 19.

The Massey computer composite ranks the SEC 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, & 25.

You uninformed hacks really should stfu with this nonsense. The SEC is actually getting shafted by the committee, and there's ample evidence to back that up.

So which conference has proven itself to be better than the SEC over the last decade?

Uga is a prime example. Ranked number 11 currently solely bc of the conference they are in. The SEC gets the benefit of the doubt in all cases. They have been historically good but history should have no bearing on current rankings.

You don't either then LSU is not the LSU of old and Duke is pretty good offense and oSu defense.
