ONLY in New Orleans can the BEST RUNNING BACK OF ALL-TIME be completely unproductive, get traded almost mid-season to another team, and, in his first game with that other team, achieve what he achieved today. We're such a weird franchise.

Sometimes all Adrian Peterson needs is a switch to really start hitting in stride

They signed AP before they drafted Kamara. It's really hard to play 3 RBs. I think Peterson will do well in AZ

Kamara is going to be incredible. I thought he was going to be an upgrade to Cadet...but he is great at running the ball as well.

That's a stupid question. He never fit with the flexibility this team covets in its position players.

A legit question is why did the team ever sign him in the first place. ETA he is still a great player but it was dumb for the saints to try and stick a round peg in a square hole.

You've got younger, more productive RBs already on the roster. Why alienate them to give Peterson 20+ carries just to appease him and get his production?

Between Ingram/Kamara the Saints almost broke 200 yards rushing and had however many receiving yards added as well. Peterson provided nothing in the passing game.

The Saints were the only team offering a check.

That is why he signed not why they signed him.

Because if one of the best RBs of all time wants to sign to my team for depth on the great deal that they did, I'm sure as hell doing it too.

Had David Johnson not gotten injured, Peterson is still on the Saints.

There’s this crazy concept that teams use different offenses than other teams.

Players may do terrible in one but well in another.

Crazy, right?

Chad Ochocinco in New England is definitive proof of the validity of this argument

That's a simple thought. You're in a cap limited sport, dollars count.

If you're usage rate on a player is going to be that low don't sign him.

That's not justification of why he was a value add to the saints. At this point the Saints valued him less than a future 6th round pick.

He would have fit fine if not for the other 2 RBs

We put up 52 points. I'm not kicking and screaming that we don't have AP anymore.

I think if AP and Ingram has alternated series at tailback, with Kamara in the lineup as needed, we would have seen a better result.

True but that's still proof that the team messed up somewhere in its evaluation of the roster correct?

Sean Payton has been consistently the best or one of the best offensive coaches in the NFL for more than a decade straight.

Paytons offense relies on a rb having pass catching ability. Peterson isn't that guy. I think the signing was more about pushing ingram to be the back that he can be and also having a veteran on a young team.

Good for him though
