But it's no longer necessary for SEC fans. One year without a champion isn't going to cause the SEC to get locked out of the next title game. Plus we have playoffs in a couple of years, so we just need to get into the top 4. We're not going to see another 2004 scenario, so I'll root against the gumps.

Same here, UGA over ND. If its Bama vs ND, I hope Bear Bryant reincarnates because he could never beat ND.

Yeah but we are waaaay past this like you said.
Also Bama winning multiple titles doesn't equal recent conference domination. It means Bama is dominating the shite out of everyone. I root for 1 sec team. I'm not going to root for the two teams I hate most in the country in Bama and Florida to win... Ever. If we're not good enough to make a title game so be it but I'm sure as hell not piggybacking off of those fricks.

And, yes, I'd root for Bama too, sorta kinda. Mostly in a "just don't embarrass us" sort of way; because... well, you really aren't thinking of the media fallout if Notre Dame beats "the SEC". The last 7 years will turn into a Lost episode about forgotten daydreams, while the Domers are hailed as the greatest dynasty in the history of American sports.

While Georgia certainly has the talent to beat Notre Dame, I believe they would get outcoached by Notre Dame.
