Wrestling legend “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, 68, hasn’t been in a match in more than a decade, but he can certainly still hold his own. The WWE Hall of Famer recently used his grappling skills to take down a man who had broken into his South Carolina home and held the intruder at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.

These two. Plus, how’s this for a baw quote

quote:

I'd retire first. It's the most hectic, nerve-wracking city. Imagine having to take the 7 Train to the ballpark looking like you're riding through Beirut next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It's depressing... The biggest thing I don't like about New York are the foreigners. You can walk an entire block in Times Square and not hear anybody speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish people and everything up there. How the hell did they get in this country?

Be careful, they'll try to cancel Rocker again. Nothing like a retroactive canceling session.

Man John Rocker gives baws a bad name.

The real answer is Rod Beck.

At the end of his career he was down in the minors and lived in his Winnebago behind the center field wall, drinking beers with fans after the games.

“ "I thought I was only going to be down here [in Des Moines] two weeks, or three weeks, maybe," Beck said. "So I figured, rather than coming down here and getting an apartment with some furniture and paying the phone bill, I'd just take my own stuff. I called the people here and asked them about bringing the RV. They said `Sure, we'll find somewhere for you to put it.'"

Beck had started driving from his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., in the spring and got only as far as Amarillo, Texas, over a period of three days.

"I dropped a line fishing here and there," Beck explained.

He then summoned his brother to help him drive the rest of the way to Des Moines.

"My family [wife Stacey and two daughters] came up here for a week and lived in here with me," Beck said. "It's like going camping and playing baseball at the same time. What's better than that?"
