When asked why he would never attend this kid's high school games, former Philadelphia Phillie Dickie Thon said "I'm not ready to meet my maker"

Horrible. A kid with his size and talent is trying to be freaking Jamal Crawford. Has bust written all over him.

I don't see what was that great? I 7 footer shouldn't have to foul the shite out of everyone to block a shot in high school

Jesus. I don't care what this kid's stats are. That's an immense amount of raw talent.

He's got a little brother who is a 6'10 freshman. That HS team will be a nightmare for their regular district opponents.

Supposedly, during Thanksgiving break a couple of years ago, the family went to visit schools in VA and never came back.

This bigger question is..... Is he really 16? I've heard otherwise. 16 or not he's still impressive but I've heard some pretty good info leading me to believe he is closer to 20 than 16.

he's on his second or third school in Virginia now. His handler is shameless, but thats the nature of the high school basketball circuit these days.

maybe they didn't want to be known as a basketball factory with 4 D1 recruits in a short period of time... Maker would have been a walking LHSAA investigation

Not true. The handler was given a position at CD, and as an earlier poster said, during the thanksgiving break they left without saying a word. It was 100% the handlers decision.

The handler, ed, was just a selfish a-hole looking around the country to find a school that would offer more money, even though country day took in the family and treated them extremely we'll.

Handler's decision? Come on man. Wise up. Handler wanted a raise. Cd said no. You can have your country day spin all you want but that is what happened

Your 'theory' is so juvenile and asinine. Really, of all schools, you don't think Country Day couldn't pony up the money to keep someone like Thon Maker?

Maker left because he has a scumbag handler who is currently pimping him out along the East coast. he's on his second or third school since moving there. I guess the other ones in Virginia said no to the raise as well?
