To me the biggest think about GS adding Durant is having another body to throw at LBJ. Draymond is more effective in help situations so you don't want him on LBJ. Iggy does the best job but if he's not 100% he can't even think about slowing LBJ down. In this situation last year the Warriors would be fricked and have to play Dray and Klay on him which makes things way easier on Kyrie and Love. Having Durant means they can just keep Klay on Kyrie and let Dray play great help or guard Love.

I imagine Durant will guard Lebron some but they can't risk him regularly putting him on Lebron. He's too important.

McGee's going to be BBQ chicken to borrow a Shaq line. He won't be able to stay on the court due to fouling.
So at worst, he'll be just like Varejao and Ezeli were last year when they went to seven games without Kevin Durant on their roster.

So 4 guys each played 8 mins or so a game? And actually Bogut was probably 16-20 of those mins. That tells me the other three were getting anihilated. But I don't need that to tell me that because I personally saw the Cavs destroy Ezili, Varejao, and speights. The point is the Warriors playing Zaza, West, and McGee is three traditional bigs that don't shoot the three and can't defend the three point line. Technically the Cavs plays no one that does that except Thompson and he can still defend anyone on a switch.

Just to add - I'm not saying why the Cavs will win. Just saying where GSW will struggle the most in my opinion. The Cavs still have to defend them and that's a different story altogether.

He's going to have too if Iggy can't do it a bunch. The main objective for the Warriors is to keep Steph off Kyrie. I honestly think Klay would be a much better offensive player if he didn't have to check the other teams stud PG because Curry can't.

Yeah, the Cavs did destroy those bigs. And this year's bigs will also be at a disadvantage. So there's not really a much of a net change there. The series was still decided on the last shot of game seven though. And that roster didn't have Kevin Durant. The whole point is, they are not going to abandon their traditional bigs when you consider that. They will get their run. GS will have a matchup plus elsewhere to balance that deficiency.

I feel you. I agree with you overall there. I guess my point is that is a deficiency for GS, but their bigs will still be noticeably in the rotation despite of it.

Two things have to happen for a Cavs win. Kyrie has to out play Curry again and Love has to keep playing well and force double teams. LBJ is a terrible match up for GS so he will get his. I'd also like to see Frye get some of Korver's minutes.

Bogut 12
Ezeli 8.6
Speights 4.7
Varejao 6.9

Tyronn Lue finna put together a master strategeric game plan. Cavs in 7.

I don't see GS doubling Love too often, but I agree.
An interesting thing will be how often the two teams run P&R with their stars and how does the opponent combat it defensively.
First few games last year, Barnes destroyed Kyrie in the post following the screen switch. Now they replace Barnes with KD.
Last few games, Cavs destroyed GS by forcing Curry to switch into LBJ and he was able to get easy looks at will in and around the paint.

And all GS had in the paint was goofy arse Varejao

Zach Lowe just wrote an article about the pick and roll. Said Lebron/Kyrie run it the best.
More interesting, he said GSW doesnt use it like you would expect with Curry/KD. He said the theory in the NBA is Durant doesn't like to screen. It was a really interesting article.

If I could pick any two players to run it with, it'd be those two.

I wouldn't want to either with KD's build. Plus, he's such a fantastic shot creator he doesn't really need the screen and roll as much. Just thinking out loud.
I'd like to read that article

I'm so glad I don't have to watch him flop around all series this year
