He is basically killing the sport

eta: not that it takes much to kill interest in womens basketball

Wasn't there like, 14 teams in the tourney back then? Excuse me if I'm sketptical of just how good he was.

Not saying he wasn't great, btw.

Kenyon College won 31 consecutive men's swimming championships from 1980 until 2011. Not sure if they had the same coach the whole time.

Skip Bertman is a nice bridge between Wooden and Saban. There was more parity in Skip's day than there was in Wooden's, and there is more parity in CFB today than there was in either of the other two eras.

Skip Bertman.

LSU was a joke of a program before he came in 1984. Students would do homework in the stands while games were going on.

2 years later, they're in Omaha. 7 years later, they begin a decade-long dynasty.

When Saban has like 15 straight top 5 finishes, then we can talk.

There was some old Arkansas track and field coach who won the NC every year for a long time. But I can't remember his name.

Can you fit "top 5 again, lost to Miami again" on a ring?

Rod Dedeaux - USC baseball coach

1,332 - 571 - 11 career record

National Champs: 58,61,63,68,70,71,72,73,74,78

True legend that doesn't get that much recognition.

I swam in college and I laugh at this. D3 is bad minus a couple athletes.
