It's still a bit early to talk about dealing people but the Red Sox are looking like they're gonna be buyers at the deadline. But let's just throw out some hypotheticals. All signs point to them trading somebody to get another starter.

Maybe dealing a few minor league guys for Sonny Gray. Same situation for Nola although I don't see them dealing him unless they get a real good deal out of it. The Sox could maybe get a great deal for Gausman if he picks up his game.

What minor or major league guys would the Red Sox be willing to give up? Swihart? Pedroia? Travis Shaw? Anybody else?

Yeah but who would take him? He's overweight and injured.

Not sure who they would try to deal. But they have some really good pitching prospects in the minors right now. Guys like Espinoza, Kopech, and Johnson. Not sure why they wont give one of these guys a chance. Especially when you have guys like O'Sullivan, Owens, and even Buchholtz who have been terrible. Buccholtz has had 1 outing all year with less than 4 runs given up. Hopefully getting E Rod back will help ease the rotation woes a little

They aren't giving up guys like Shaw or Pedroia who are contributing heavily at the ML level. One of the catchers (Swihart or Vasquez) would probably be a start along with one of their pitching prospects like Espinoza. I think Kopech broke his hand punching a teammate so I'm not sure how much value he has

They still have a stocked system so it will just be a question of how aggressive they want to get this year

ETA also there is no way the Phillies are trading Nola

Your strange use of erratic capitalization in your title is bothersome.

That's what I figured the dude is pitching as good as anybody in the majors is right now.

He's 22 and under team control for another 6ish years. The Phillies are in a wildcard spot right now.

The Phillies are also 22-16 and a game out of 1st. No, they're not trading Nola.

They could wait on Eduardo Rodriguez. He's pretty good. Or promote some of the pitching prospects they have like Johnson.

Most likely scenario, but Beane usually doesn't deal guys with that much team control left. He usually waits until 1-2 years before they're about to get paid. He still has a while with Gray. Only way the A's part with Gray is if the Sox include someone like Moncado or Benintendi + 1 top 100 prospect + 1 top 20 team prospect.

Almost 0% chance the Phillies deal Nola without a King's ransom. Nola is not elite, but he is a solid #2 starter they're rebuilding around.

Orioles might deal Gausman, but it would take a lot. I'd lean towards this not happening because of division rivalries.

Arms they could realistically deal for are as follows IMO: (NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

1. James Shields
2. Shelby Miller (if AZ tanks), but unlikely AZ actually has the balls to get rid of the guy who cost them Swanson without getting Benintendi or Moncada + 2 more top 150 prospects in return.
3. Adam Conley or Wei Yen Chen if the Marlins tank. They wouldn't have to give up too much in return.
4. Ervin Santana---Twins are still rebuilding and it's highly doubtful Santana will be around to see it turned around.
5. Marcus Stroman/Aaron Sanchez ----If the Jays tank and the Sox are willing to give up A LOT, maybe they can strike a deal with the Jays. Their GM is known for wheeling and dealing.
6. RA Dickey----Not sure he'd be an improvement or worth trading for, but the Jays would listen.
7. Archer/SMyly/Odorizzi- The Rays are always listening. It would take a significant amount of prospects to bring in Archer. Smyly and Odorizzi would be much cheaper in terms of what the Sox have to give up.
8. Tyler Chatwood---Rox are playing decent ball right now, but if they do start to tank, they may feel the need to replace Gonzalez and some other holes in their lineup. Chatwood is looking decent this year and may not require the Sox to give up Moncada, Espinosa, Anderson, or Benintendi.

Just like none of the names you mentioned in the OP are getting traded anytime soon.
