This will be my second season of watching MLB since I was a kid. Not attached to any team, just want to watch good baseball.

Decided to follow the Marlins last season... don't ask why. We all know how that went.

What are some of the more exciting teams out there? Preferably east/central teams. Don't want to stay up until 11pm each night watching a west coast team.

Thanks.

This season is setting up to be the perfect Cubs season, high expectations and then flounder. I am not a Cubs fan though.

I don't watch any baseball at all anymore, so in some ways I have no credibility. On the other hand, since I don't watch it, perhaps my thoughts might be interesting to someone who was in the same boat until last year.

If I was going to pick a team to follow, I think it might be the Blue Jays. I hear that they are up and coming and might be interesting this season.

Others on my list would be Pirates, Indians and Tigers.

I'm jumping on the Pirates this year. Don't think they will win it all, but they are fun to watch. They have good team speed, one of the best pitchers in the game in Gerrit Cole, and always seem to make things interesting around September and October.

So if you want to avoid the waiting list to get on the Cubs' bandwagon, they would be a fun team I would recommend.

I was actually just looking at these two.

I guess I'll watch both of them until I decide which I like better. I'm leaning Pirates since (a) I caught their game yesterday and (b) I like to watch good pitching.

ETA: Don't really want to jump on the Cubs or Astros bandwagon.

If you like teams that built from the ground up there are the Pirates and Astros. Pirates are in a super competitive division against the Cubs and Cardinals.

Astros is the answer. Came out of the gates with the expectations last year of being a .500 ball club, goes on to make some noise in the postseason. Very young, exciting team with some of the games best young players in Correa (last years AL ROY), Altuve, Springer, and Keuchel (last years AL Cy Young winner). Plus they hit the most home runs in the league :gostros:

I considered the Astros (not because of the bandwagon but because we used to go to a few games when I was a kid) but I don't want to deal with the blackouts on MLB.tv.

My favorite player right now is Giancarlo tho

Twins!

So excited to see the progression of Rosario, Buxton, and Sano in the OF.

One of the reasons I followed the Marlins last season. Stanton can hit HRs into the neighboring city. Dee Gordon and Hechavarria are incredible in the field. Fernandez is a stud.

However, too many holes in the roster and the management is fricking crazy. From what I read, they sent Ozuna to the minors to avoid paying him some money.

And I started to hate the announcers and the stadium.

I might still keep up with them, but not as much as last season. I want to watch a good team.

The Red Sox have probably the best boom/bust potential in the league. It can either go really well, or go south in a hurry.
