Yes and no. At least to me that is how I see it.
Shear number of wins, yes 221 out of 222 is impressive. Really impressive.
But I think who the 34 are is important. The fact that Mount Union runs the table and has only missed 2 Championship games in 20 years, and 2 teams have taken 20 of 22 spots in the last 11 Title games, tells me the level of competition is extremely low in DIII. They have won their conference every year since 1992. In that time, they have lost 2 conference games. This year in particular has Mount Union at 8-0, John Carroll at 7-1, and every other team st 4-4 or worse.
They aren't just head and shoulders above everyone else; they are standing on their HEADS!!
Hell, Miami beat 12 ranked teams over those 34 games, with 6 of those against Top 10 teams.
Longevity, no doubt, Mount Union is impressive. But 9 of their 10 games each season are against inferior conference opponents. It's like Alabama joining the Sun Belt.

And since 1994 Alabama has lost to
ULM
La Tech multiple times
UCF (1st BCS team UCF beat)
So that is why I say this is impressive and more impressive than the 34 games.
The only team out there I can think of off the top of my head that does not have a WTF non conference loss is tOSU.

And I respect that. Not saying you are wrong; I just disagree. They are clearly on another level from the rest of D3.
And honestly, I think 34 straight is more impressive for the fact that it is not just regular season. That includes 2 major bowl games as well. Oklahoma's win streak back in the 50s may be more impressive, because it was 57 STRAIGHT, not just regular season.
But, that is the beauty of sports. People can look at things differently.

I understand your POV on this. Just differing but to put this in somewhat even more craziness.
Mt Union has won every game but 1 in a generation in the regular season. I think that is what is the impressive part of it to me. They just do not lose, they do not take games off, they have done it with different coaches, different players, different offenses.
Again, most do not think about lower divisions, but there are more teams and players in the lower divisions than in FBS.

One of the most underrated streaks in sports history is Ted Williams' 84 game on base streak. That's just insane.

That's impressive, but DIII can get a little dicey. There's no athletic scholarships, but some schools can get a little, shall we say, creative with academic and need-based financial aid. I don't know about Mt. Union specifically, but that gives some schools a massive advantage over others to the point where only a few schools can be even remotely competitive in some sports.

Wisconsin-Whitewater has their number in title games winning it all in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014

Like Nebraska used to do? Like Stanford Baseball and LSU baseball does?
Nebraska used to at one time before the late 80's reforms into scholarships put some of their players on Work Study and give the top two tiers of players scholarships

Yeah, except way more impactful.
Most D3 schools are small liberal arts-type schools. Most have tuitions above $40K which applies to their athletes as well unless they are also exceptional students and can qualify for academic awards. If you can knock that down, you can tap into an entirely different prospect pool.

I know how D III works
They also now send out "celebatory" letters to sign on signing day. I think it started last year.

Like schools in the WIAC, none of which are Liberal Arts Colleges.

Not much depth in DIII.
2004 was the last time a school other than Mt Union, St Thomas or Wisconsin-Whitewater appeared in the title game.
Not won, appeared. Those three schools have played each other for the title for over a decade.

My high school had me sign some random admissions paperwork for our signing day event because there were only like 5 DI athletes, and they wanted more people to introduce.

I'd be down for Tulane to play DIII for a season and kick the shite out of Wisconsin Whitewater for a natty. Not like we're doing shite in the FBS.

What is Osh Kosh?
I know it is a public but what is their main area of study? I thought they used to be the soccer power up there.

Hasn't it been the same guy and his son since the mid-80s?

different players
This IS college football we are talking about, right? I do wonder at how they manage to put these monster teams together year after year. Doesn't seem logical that a program can sustain that success without some "funny business".

different offenses
Did they just change the offenses up? And I mean, it's not like this is that difficult over 20 years, especially with different players, as you said. Great coaches can change their philosophy, adapt.

And they play all but one game against teams in conference. If you hage a crappy conference, which the OAC clearly is, it's not that difficult.
If there are truly no scholarships at the D3 level, you have to honestly wonder how they manage to skew the balance in their favor.
