Anyone that watched them during the season knows that defense carried Denver to the Super Bowl and then won it for them. Where do you rank them all time? Top 10? Top 5? And do you think they are better than the 2013 Seahawks D?

Top 10.

A push really with Seahawks.

Seahawks were balanced with an awesome secondary and "coverage sacks". Denver secondary can be overshadowed because their front 7 were all over everybody so quickly.

Can't be among the greats, they went up against Cam.

Statistically they were the second best in this game.
A missed FG and two or three effort plays were the difference, both defenses played lights out.

The 2013 Seahawks faced the #1 scoring offense of all time and embarrassed them.

This Denver team faced an overrated offense and embarrassed them.

I absolutely loved watching Denver's defense yesterday, especially their pass rush. But that Seahawks defense was one of the best in history.

In the Super Bowl they were. I think this is the best Super Bowl defense since the first Ravens (2000 - 2001), better than the Bucs (2002 - 2003), the Seahawks (2013-2014), and the Steelers (2005-2006) - although those are all pretty close. Those are the top 5 of the past 20 years - at least during the big game. What gives the Broncos team that played yesterday the edge is their direct impact on the score and their offense just wasn't up to the game (that as true for the Ravens back in 2000-2001, too). Plus they smothered the NFL MVP in quite impressive fashion. Even if it turns out that Cam was injured (my working theory), still impressive.

Ravens, Bears, Hawks, Bucs... Then this team? Top 5 for me.

Man, I was so jealous looking at that team yesterday though. Big names everywhere and Von Miller. Come on Ravens... Come back to awesome defense...

This shows how important a pass rush is in this league.

Couple that with the fact that Denver has an A+ run defense and they are basically top 5 all time no doubt. An their corners and nickel aren't too shabby either. Then bring in TJ Ward and it sets the bar really damn high.
