I did not know that one person merely jumping higher than another results in 6 points.

His percentage of covering the #1 receiver both out wide and in the slot, as well as the stats he had while doing so was unheard of.

He's so good that that, he can't even effectively defend against a #4 receiver.

Seemed to equate to 6 points on the last play to me

When two guys are jumping for a ball, and nobody else is involved, it is a high probability the one who jumps higher/is taller will come up with the ball.

except that Janis did not jump higher. Choose slow mo on the ground views at the latter parts of the video. Petersons helmet is a good 6 inches higher
LINK
Next excuse please.

I am just objectively disputing the inaccurate excuse that Janis jumped higher.

You all are right. Peterson did a great job on that play. A model for how to defend against a hail mary. He's the best. Best ever in the history of the world

not a single person has said that. People are just rational and taking the play for what it's worth. A CB getting beat on a jump ball by a bigger reliever. It really isn't that big of a deal.

so what kind of job did this cornerback, who you believe had the single greatest season in the history of football, do, if not great? A good job? Average? Below average? Poor? Afterall, he did give up a game tying TD with no time left.

It was an average job. He didn't do anything particularly good or particularly bad. Not everything has to be "ommmmmggggg he sucks" or "ommmmmg he is the best ever". That's the problem with this place sometimes, everything has to be some huge definitive statement.

coaching is as bad as the product in the NFL

u front and rear guard anything in the endzone, not stand behind the wr's.

remember, no matter how bad the product is, or how bad teams are, their owners rake in cash, whether u show up or not.

I agree here. I think the Packers have proved tracking the ball and making a play is easier when running into the end zone then simply waiting under it. Teams need to have a guy or two sitting in the end zone and a guy trailing the receiver from the beginning

I think that is accurate and fair. I cannot disagree with that.

The problem with sports viewing imo is that we can't ever just enjoy the greatness of a play or game. People who are negative feel like they immediately have to start blaming.

And again, process vs results. Sometimes you make a good play and lose that play , sometimes you make a bad play and win that play.

Tell that to Sean Payton, Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham. They never got your message.

Peterson shadowed James Jones for the majority of the game. Jones had 0 receptions in the game. Peterson has had a similar impact in every game throughout the season. It's really one of the best seasons ever by a CB in the NFL.
