Baseball players are the most athletic.

I mean they dont jump up and break their legs due to being completely unathletic.

Umm, seriously? Every time you freaking turn you are on the edge of your skate.

Would you have been more happy if I said using your edges?

Tough call. Can't decide between soccer, tennis, and basketball.

However, any sport that Eddy Curry can play professionally surely can't be the most athletic.

bullshite

skating, puck handling, shooting are skills. there is athleticism involved for sure, but i doubt hockey players would perform well in physical-only testing. plus hockey has a lot of goons

So shooting and dribbling aren't skills? Catching and throwing aren't skills?

Skating is just like running except its tougher and requires more athleticism to do at a high level.

And yes the way you pick and choose is completely arbitrary.

no its not. maybe acquiring the level of skill that an nhl player has but the act of skating isnt some grand feat.

Honestly... I am not sure I mean, stopping is second nature. Practices like "suicides", aka blue red blue.

Just never heard of a hockey camp where we really focused on stopping

I should preface that with that I did not attend elite level camps. So I just don't know.

Is that not what we are talking about, playing a sport at a high level? Anyone can go out there and run, but not everyone runs a 4.4 or they can't run for almost an hour total.

Skating is more difficult than running.

I'm not talking about stopping...

Using your edges.

Balancing and edges.

You are pretty much on your edge the entire time.

your answer to the topics question was hockey because of skating. i was disagreeing that the act of skating makes hockey the sport that requires the most athleticism.

Basketball requires the most raw physical ability. Soccer requires the most conditioning. Both trump anything else

No, I was saying skating is difficult. I never said what sport required the most athleticism.

I'm not really sure what sport does require the most, because it is all subjective.

But ESPN seems to think its boxing, which isn't actually a bad choice at all.
