That principal has no principles. I try to ever wish something bad on a HS kid, I have to admit having a big smile when I saw the score. You know, before all the gerrymandering she precipitated, her team actually made it all the way to the Dome under the old arrangements. It's like a politician redrawing a congressional district to ensure an election, then the other candidate wins.

Agreed.

I don't have a problem with the kids but the insane amount of butthurt coming from that woman as the face of the split made me hate Winnfield with the passion of a thousand suns.

I'm hoping the next time the classes realign, Winnfield and Haynesville end up in the same classification so that she can start pissing and moaning about never having a shot due to other public schools.

What year was that because Winnfield played ECA in the Qtrs and lost like 10-5, made alot of errors which was uncharacteristic for them. Anyone who was a winnfield fan and watched that game knew errors killed them. They did lose to St. Charles in the semi's a couple years ago on a couple blown calls, maybe that's the game you are thinking of?

It was the ECA game, and it was the quarters. That game was tight down to the last inning (if my memory is right, which is now suspect), and the errors blew it open. I just remember seeing winnfield look like the better team and playing not to lose.
Anyway, I oppose the split, and winnfield is the poster child for the split. I will smile when Karma rears its head every time.

Yeah I was at that game, we jumped out and got a couple runs and then made a couple errors and the score was like 5-5 in the 4th or 5th and then we had another bad inning . They only scored runs in two innings and got 5 in both if I remember right. One thing that was weird was neither pitcher got any calls, wasn't calling a strike unless it was right down the middle, neither team got as many hits as you would have thought.

I knew the family of one of the girls on that team. I really wanted them to win, but they just let it slip. I was up the hill from that game watching my daughter play in a different class, so I wasn't following it play-by-play.

But my biggest beef with the split, is that I think it will go into effect for all sports. Then that hurts all small schools. The big schools will be fine.

But they are dispersed across the state. I am talking about class C mostly. And travel for athletics is tough without the split. I am anticipating the split to eventually lead to split districts too.
maybe my "fear" is unwarranted, but that is where I think it will lead.

i do think some sports could be split without butthurt from most people... like wrestling, cross country, etc. where the select schools do dominate.

out of 5 catholic schools in 5A the last few years, they always seemed to be ranked 1-5 in state in wrestling, they were always good at soccer, minor sports...

but football, basketball, and baseball? those are the sports that shouldn't be split.

Meh. West Monroe won 5A cross country last year. Brusly is great in wrestling. Beau Chene made the D2 soccer championship game. You know more than anyone that it is organization that helps these private schools, not superior talent. Look at the list of NFL players. Vast majority come from public schools.

as a former public school distance runner I would hate this. it would take away the majority of the competition any decent runner from a public school would have. Performance in running is based too much off of the level of competition you have.
