Not saying he is an Aldrige clone, but the situation is similar. To me, this is not an Emeka Okefor - Dwight Howard situation. I think that Okefor's skill set it being underrated, especially his athleticism. If I had to bet on someone in this class becoming a multiple all-star, it would be him.

I think he could definitely be an All-Star because he will have flashy numbers. But without defense, he can't help him team.

The Jazz have to end up with either Kaminsky or Dekker

I want the Pistons to pick Kristaps Porzingis (Dirk Jr).

Yeah, this is overrated too. You are basing this from 1 year of college. Like I said, they said the same thing about Aldrige...a polished offensive player without much upside. I think you can build around Okefor. Towns is talented and I would take him #1, but Okefor at number 2 is a nice consolation prize for LA. In a few years guys like nonetheless will be saying that the draft was rigged to get him.

That's not a bad comp.

I think this defense thing could be overblown. He rebounds and can block shots just fine. He's not a jumping pogo stick but he's very young and can be coached up. The attributes are there and young players improve. He's not going to be an elite defender... but he'll hold his own. He's an old school player stuck in today's new aged fast paced game. He'll have his struggles against smaller quicker teams... that's just inevitable. However, team defense is greater than the sum of its parts.

The rigging. That's true. Aldridge just looks so much more athletic to me. Okafor has very heavy looking legs if that makes sense. Also, as good as Aldridge is, Portland hasn't done much since he's gotten there. Just short playoff runs.

I want Bobby Portis on the Hawks. hoping he can be the mobile, multidimensional big that Adreian Payne shoulda been (and that Muscala seems to be growing into). can't have too many of those guys for how the Hawks play, and it'd be nice not to seem so smallish all the time.

I'd love to see Justin Anderson go to my Cavs but I don't think he's there by the time they pick.

Aldridge really isnt that athletic. He is just skilled for his size.

Okafor is more athletic and explosive. and for a teenage post player, his skills are pretty damn advanced. If he gets his foul shooting down he'll be a really good player

I see Randle and Okafor as being somewhat duplicative skill-sets.

Just think Towns and Randle would be a better duo.

I don't see Minny passing on Towns though.

@WojYahooNBA: If Karl-Anthony Towns is determined to get to Lakers, it'll be interesting to see how agreeable his camp will be to meeting with Minnesota.

As a Laker fan I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have Russell or even Mudiay. This is a guard driven league and I don't see Townes or Okafor having Anthony Davis type talent.

My guess is he will be off the board by #8. SVGod went and saw him in person, so he knows whether or not he is the real deal.

Stanley Johnson would be a nice consolation prize and apparently has a fire deep in his loins to play for The fricking Wall™
