I remember when Turkey Joe Jones freakin body-slammed Terry Bradshaw. Separated TB's shoulder, I believe.

I think it was the Broncos.

It was Bum Phillips, coach of the Houston Oilers. He was quoted as saying, "That young'un can't be doing that all by himself."

Folks can debate who is the GOAT at different positions in the NFL, but there's no argument when it comes to punter. No one matches Ray Guy.

I watched that game and it was tough as a Raiders fan to see Plunkett walking around on the sideline unable to play due to injury. He was one tough dude.

Those were games I looked forward to more than any as a Raiders season ticket holder. There was mutual respect between the teams, but there was also deep animosity that neither team tried to hide.

The Raiders put pain on many teams the 20 years preceding 1984. These boys also brought the pain in the 60's, GOAT front 4.

Their punter was Ray Guy, who was pretty much All World at football. He was capable of playing many positions but got pigeonholed into punter and placekicker because he was THAT damn good at it.

First, Southern Miss To The Top!

Second, the fact that Ray Guy isn't in the HOF is a fricking joke.

I saw him in college (USM vs La.Tech) in Ruston. It's the only time I've ever seen an opposing team stop warming up to watch the opposing kicker. When Guy kicked the ball it was a loud BOOM. Fact.....

Tom Tupa (tOSU) also had that same BOOM when he struck the ball. Didn't get to see Guy but I can only imagine.
