Yeah I just moved out here since I split my time between here and Houston and basically and everyone I work with is out here, it just made too much sense. I still am back in Houston a week or so a month. After spending a bunch of time in ND Midland isn't that bad

It's the committee that made the bid.

When the Saints won the SB, it was branded as South Florida, not Miami.

I think it's dumb, but it is what it is. I won't let it ruin my day and keep me from cracking open a beer.

This. All the Final Fours have a host school(s). TCU and SMU are probably the hosts and seeing that one is in Dallas, one is in Fort Worth, and the stadium is in Arlington, it probably makes everyone happy to say North Texas.

SMU is in Dallas but it isn't actually in Dallas.

Amarillo is north Texas.

When I lived in Dallas a decade ago that area was referred to as North Texas. UNT is in Denton, which is essentially Dallas Metro now due to sprawl.

Amarillo is in the Panhandle.

It is North Texas. There is a school in Denton branded as such. And Arlington sucks. The only thing worth a shite there is the Rangers stadium and Jerry world (not a Cowboys fan). There are much better places in the mid-cities to live than Arlington.

Because they have to put TEXAS in the title.

Texans are the most insecure people on Earth, I swear.

To see if we can confuse people more:

SMU is within the city limits of Dallas, but it isn't within Dallas' city limits.

Wait until you come to Dallas to see how screwed up the zoning is out here... Drive 5 minutes east, west, south or north and you're in a different city! I live in North Dallas and literally have to deal with this different city zoning BS: North(plano), south(Addison), east(richardson), and west(Carrollton).

As far as event name, tons of cities have fought over events to get teams city name changed because the city/county government want proper recognition. LA Angels, etc.

Yes, I know.

It's an enclave suburb of Dallas, along with highland park, the other "park city" of Texas.

You almost have it...

Houston is its own animal. East Texas is Tyler, Longview, Beaumont etc.
