'm fine with them trying to promote awareness or whatever for that. Sure, there are some bad cops. Sure, black people are absolutely profiled in some cases.

Very ineffective tactic though. It's divisive and pushes reasonable people away, and it doesn't convey any actual ideas.

They all have Facebook and Twitter where they could articulate any specific grievances and people would know what they wanted. But how many of these players have published a list of demands? How many have identified a list of changes that will induce them to stand the following week?

Without that, it's a protest with no message.

To make all you "Constitutional scholars" when it comes to the Second Amendment look like hypocritical racists when it comes to the First.

I can tell from the responses in the thread that it's working.

Please point out the clause where the First Amendment says individuals are protected from criticism by other individuals.

Also, please link to the posts you made criticizing Goodell in the past when he banned Bible verses in eyeblack or fined players for opposing domestic violence or honoring deceased loved ones.

At this point it's like planking. A stupid, trendy act that garners attention.

There is no goal it's simply ignorant people protesting the United States. More white people are killed by police officers than any other race each year by a wide margin but not one of these clowns even know nor would admit or protest for those people. This is nothing more than another political protest from the winey left because they lost. There's no end game just pampered athletes complaining about something they know nothing about.

So exactly what has happened since Kap took a knee in protest besides others taking knees too? What change has come? Anyone?

Taking a knee was slowly fading away until Trump called NFL players SOB's. The reason for kneeling than seemed to switch from a protest against inequality, to a group deciding this is their way to show a form of unification. Ultimately Trump attacked their character and naturally one would expect them to take offense. Kneeling for the anthem may very well hurt the NFL financially, but as a group (owners, coaches, players, etc.), they will not let an outsider attack them.

Nothing. It's trendy, cool ND rebellious. It's an adolescent move from lukewarm IQs who play a game for a living.

Pretty much. All of the protests yesterday had little to do with police/inequality anything and more to do with to Trump.

Taking a knee is the in-person equivalent of a #hashtag

how bad did you just want to type "black people"

Thats the best you can come up with??? This shite is happening on both sides of the fence, not just with black people. I do believe that more white people are on welfare than black people. More whites are shot and killed by cops than blacks. There are plenty of white deadbeat dads around every town you go in. There are plenty of white thugs out there who think the street life is better than working hard for their income. There are PLENTY of white people who have their hands out and bitching about "rich folks" having too much money.

So dont give me that bullshite about my response being directed to only blacks. This is a SOCIETY issue, not just a black and white issue. But Im glad you implied that bc it shows that another issue is people like you who automatically assume what others "want to say or what they really meant" instead of actually asking them. Hence my response earlier of people actually having conversations....

Same people that are making millions off of them so they will side with them. Owners need to realize where all that money comes from though.
