What (if any) was the first NFL "event" you consider overkill?

For some, it's when the Combine became an actual week-long event.

For others, it's when fantasy football became as important as the real games.

For me, it was when the Draft moved to Thurs-Sat, Goodell hugs became a thing, and they started waiting 5 minutes to announce first round picks--causing everyone to go to Twitter to find out who they picked.

Close runner-up: when mock draft 2.0 and 3.0 reveals started to become big faux news events on websites and networks.

I get it. There's a market for it. And I don't have to watch. I'm just curious if anything made you say "that's too much" yet.

While it doesn't really answer your question, Chris Berman and others tipping picks as if they're just making educated guesses is infuriating and pathetic.

I hated this move.

I loved getting up Saturday morning and watching the Draft all day.

Its not the same in primetime on a Thursday to me.

the Senior Bowl. When I was a kid you could go and watch a practice and maybe see 20 scouts there. Now it's a media circus and Pro Football Focus was even hear to grade players in a fricking practice for a fricking all star game. Overkill!!

I can. The Bills rode his dick at all times and tipped him off every time they made a pick. And then he'd come out all smug and shite talking what "his cabbie" told him they might do.

I get what you're saying but go to Saints Talk or any football forum, there's a thread for mock draft .5, 1.0, 1.75, 2, etc etc

I know some of y'all are big rabid CFB fans, there's huge NFL fans as well. It's like "where will [insert 18 year old HS recruit] sign on NSD three months from here? Ohhh his top 15 became top 10!!"

Thursday night football. All the constant NFL Live coverage on ESPN 5 days a week all year. Pregame shows lasting 2-3 hours. Stinking Cowboys seemingly getting the 3:30 FOX game every other Sunday...even when they were bad. Sleazeball owners having to move to LA out of greed.
