They were the worst offense we faced last year. They will improve in that department but there is no way they are going to the CFP.

The more I thought about it I really wanted to check Oregon or Wisconsin, but they're all away the weekends I can go. OU at WVU was solid too but the airport situation is bunk.

Looks like the leader in the clubhouse now is Illinois @ Michigan on 10/22. I found a nonstop roundtrip flight ot Detroit for $160 Looks like about a 20 mile cab ride which is doable, I just really don't want to rent a car.

Any thoguhts on that game? I also like that the gametime has alreayd been announced.

Illinois has had tons of issues coaching wise IIRC so i wouldn't expect much from them.

Price is right though, have fun if that's the one

After narrowing down stadiums I want to see, the next part is logistics. Penn State was my first choice but it's exorbitant to fly direct to state college and any other airport I'd have to rent a car and drive a few hours. Bummer. With Michigan I found dirt cheap flights and would only have to get a (likely kinda pricey but oh well) cab ride to campus.

I know the matchup stinks but beggars can't be choosers. They also host maryland on one of the other weekends but that's not real sexy either.

Come see the Illini vs northwestern battle for in state bragging rights in Evanston, Evanston is a fun college town although the football atmosphere is nothing like SEC gameday it's a good one and you can hop on the EL and go enjoy yourself in Chicago afterward.

Iowa may be cool but it just doesn't grab me, not sexy enough.

I get what you are saying, but I went to a game there about 10 years ago with a group of friends while we were hunting in Iowa. Iowa City was surprisingly a very nice town. The downtown area was really nice and there were a great deal of bars and pubs throughout the area.

The people couldn't have been nicer. Really no surprise in that. They all tailgated very well and the atmosphere inside the game was great. It was all in all very Nebraska-esque, just not up to the Nebraska level.

I recommend going to Stanford-Colorado on October 22nd. Stay in Denver or Boulder, you'll have a kick arse time at either one. Theb Sunday if you're into shows, 5 Finger Death Punch is playing at 6 p.m.

That stadium looks to be in a really scenic area.

You know what, November 19th is when USC travels to UCLA. Good rivalry game at the Rose Bowl.

There you go my friend.

BYU is a great experience for the stadium. The BYU fans also get really, really intense (some were a little too volatile). The tailgating and post-game experience is abysmal.

Yes that would be awesome but as I said in the OP we play out there in a few years which I will definitely attend so no need to go now.

Seems so long ago now. Damn time flies.

So are you going to stay the whole weekend and come back Monday? Or leave Sunday morning? I would just check on what's going on around that city and see if they have anything special going on. Like I said for the Colorado game, 5 Finger Death Punch was playing that next day. Though, most of these are just your basic college towns with probably not a lot going on.

probably fly in Friday afternoon and fly back Sunday afternoon. Trying to take off work as little as possible.

I don't even really care if there's much to do, the biggest thing is just seeing a stadium/campus of a major program that I ordinarily would not ever get to. As long as there's a bar or gas station within a few miles of where I stay I'll be happy.
