First of all, anything the NFL does to "salute" or "celebrate" anything is for show anyway.

The NFL is patriotic and is doing this because the Armed Services, USAA, and Navy Federal Credit Union are paying them to do it.

You hate the kneelers, but you don't hate a league that promotes patriotism as a marketing/money-making tool. You people are out of control.

This is all a temper-tantrum because the President said they should be fired if the knelt during the anthem.

Or it could be them protesting the President and his comments

The act itself is disrespectful to the flag/anthem/country, whether they intend it to be or not.

Thanks for deciding that for the rest of us.

If you grew up in the 1770s, you would probably bitch about Paul Revere, George Washington, Patrick Henry, and all the other "pussy liberals."

And yet I still see none of you bitching about all the people in the stands who aren't paying attention when the anthem is playing.

Nobody bitches about the folks who are still finding their seats, still wearing their hats, playing on their phones, going to the bathroom, buying beer and food, or wandering around the stadium while the anthem is playing. You see it at every single sporting from high school all the way up to the pros and somehow that's no big deal.

Also, what are you all doing when the anthem is playing when you are watching at home? Oh yea thats right. You are sitting you arse on your couch, prepping some gameday food, cracking a beer, talking to your buddies, and posting on TD how you are about a 2 minute silent protest that somehow causes you to be incapable of enjoying a game for the next 4 hours.

They're also the people who scream at the guy who is singing the anthem but forgot to take off his cap.

Their protest is against rogue cops and the judicial system that doesn't prosecute them. Not the military or veterans.

Don't even bother, dude. You're dealing with people who think that if you didn't vote for Trump and don't have an American flag in your front yard and on your car, you want soldiers to die.

I don't hate the kneelers...I just think they are acting children who got told not to do something, and did it anyway. As if the President has any control WHATSOEVER over the league.

I mean, what is he going to do, shut them down?

Everytime the Toupee says something, someone gets offended. When did America become a bunch of pussies?

And everytime someone does something the President disagrees with he gets offended and tweets something out.

There are greater concerns going on in this country and the world our president should focus on than what a handful of player do during the National Anthem

Why? If it really is such a sacred thing the people at home should stop what they are doing to sing the anthem and salute the flag too. I can't think of a single time I've ever seen anyone do that at a watch party. The closest thing you get is a few people stopping to see who is singing the song and more often than not complaining about the way they sang it.

The Salute to Service month will be bigger than ever because the vets fought for their right to protest.

Why?

Because there is a HUGE difference between actually being in front of the flag and sitting at home.

They will pipe the audio of the anthem over the radio for some games. Am I supposed to stop on the side of the road and stand at attention facing my radio?

I agree 100% with you on people at the game not taking off hats, or sitting, or facing the flag. But I just don't agree with the at home part of it.

listening in the car and watching at hime are two completely different things.

No, I would not expect anyone to stop the car and salute the radio.

But if players kneeling makes a person that angry and they are watching at home they should be able to take two minutes out of their day to stop, sing the song, and salute the flag. (as long as it's actually aired on TV)

If they can't bother to do that they little more than hypocrites looking for something to complain about.

Thank you, Ive always felt like this. If honoring the national anthem was such a big deal. Then everyone in the room, yes while watching tv. Should stop and observe and pay respect. Instead, we talk, laugh and post on TD how terrible of a singer they are.
