This was USC versus Washington State. This is equivalent to Florida State and UCF.

Is the media giving Darnold as much crap for losing as Lamar Jackson did when he lost to Clemson? I doubt it

Ok, but having scouts see potential at the next level shouldn't mean he stays in the Heisman race because of that potential, despite shitty play

This is the truest statement in this thread.

The fact that he is getting more press, hype, magazine covers, and news articles than the defending returning Heisman Trophy winning quarterback just because he plays for The Chosen Program is downright offensive.

I didn't say he was bad and completely undeserving, so please don't put words in my mouth. He had a great run last year, but if he had that run at Tennessee, Wisconsin or Oklahoma State, would he be lapping the field in publicity?

If lsu had not beat louisville in bowl handily, jackson would be front runner.

Lsu is now middle of pack sec west team. Good but not great or scary.

USC did get fricked on that offensive PI though. Horrendous call by the officials.

Can't really use bad officiating as an excuse when you lose a game. There's just less margin for error. I thought Texas got screwed on a couple of calls (or non-calls) against SC, but I was happy with that win.

It was kinda entertaining to listen to Tom Herman whine about it though.

SC will win a lot of games this season, but we'll probably lose a couple more too. We're better than most teams when we're on our game, but we're not boat racing anybody right now either.

prior to this game he was 5th in odds behind Barkley, Mayfield, Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph.

On ESPNs heisman watch thing, he was fourth.

I don't know what you people are bitching about.
