What are these analysts seeing in Sam Darnold?

Does he look like a #1 overall NFL pick to anyone else?

I don't see it.

His mechanics are shite and his decision making is questionable.

ETA: Those Washington State uniforms are legit.

His line sucks.

He bounces around like old Big Ben and makes manly throws.

He creates - when nothing is there.

Remember that Super Bowl throw Big Ben made? That's what GM's are jizzing about. Sam Darnold has made those pin-point under pressure throws in college.

Yeah he threw some dimes against Texas when the DBs had perfect coverage. Even DeShaun Watson threw a lot of picks last year.

But USC as a team is way overrated.

I don't think SC's WR's are good this year either.

Maybe the hype during the off-season got to him, but he definitely seems to be forcing things.

I don't like them. It's like LSU wearing all purple with zero gold, to me.

He had that one good game vs Penn State and is undefeated. That's about it

They are.

That's how good Darnold is.

Because the team isn't that good.

He has ONE receiver who is hurt. THe rest just drop everything.

His line sucks...he has to constantly bounce around back there.

How good is Darnold? He saved that fool HC job last year and when Darnold leaves USC will be a preseason #25 team and not a preseason #5 team.

He saved a man's job! Did nobody watch college football last year????

If he had started against Bama it might have been a game. He single-handily turned their season around from 3 losses to 10 straight wins. Clay Helton should build the g uy a statue.

You think Darnold would have made a difference in a 46 point blow out?

Go home son. You're drunk.

They look at tools and makeup, over performance at the college level.

Can the guy make every throw? Absolutely.

Does he make USC better? Absolutely.

Does he have all the pieces around him that a USC QB typically does? Looks less like it all the time.

Does he show flashes of big moment play? Yes

Does he let bad play stick with him, when it comes to decision making? No.

I don't think he's a Top 3 guy. Still, he checks every NFL box, and if you don't have a QB, you can't win at the NFL level. '

Darnold IS Joe Kane.

And he's way overhyped. Falk is a better prospect. Would like to see him under center a bit more though.

He can throw two more picks tonight and will still be top 5 in the Heisman race. I'm just accepting that.

USC did get fricked on that offensive PI though.

Horrendous call by the officials.

Funny how Watson was ridiculed for picks but with Darnold it's fine

He's the best prospect this year so by default he's going to be a top pick. I said in another thread he's a Carson pamler type NFL guy. He'll be serviceable, maybe even for a long time, but not a Superbowl level qb. Of there's a guy like that in this class it's Mayfield to me, but he's risky as hell.

Ok, but having scouts see potential at the next level shouldn't mean he stays in the Heisman race because of that potential, despite shitty play
