Steve Dalkowski. He was probably special needs, and never got the attention he needed. Maybe the hardest thrower in baseball history (Nuke Laloosh from Bull Durham is sort of based off of him).

David Thompson. Michael Jordan described him as his hero. The NBA lost a generation to cocaine, but Thompson was the biggest casualty.

Alex Semin. How the hell is he already out of the NHL?

Greg Oden.

Darius Miles. Dude was supposed to be a legend.

Jay Williams.

Troy Williamson - Vikings drafted him #7 overall with the pick the traded Moss for.

That was a case of a terrible front office decision to pick a guy who had great speed and the worst set of hands in the league. He was blessed with great speed and nothing else. He got as much out of his talent as he could have.

The one guy who had a really good career, but just never took full advantage of his ability was Vince Carter. Guy may have been the most athletically gifted player in the NBA, but just never had the heart, desire, or killer instinct to be the very best. There was nothing he couldn't do, but he was content just coasting. He should have been mentioned in the same sentence with Kobe and Jordan, but he just didn't want it bad enough.

I can't believe no one has said Clowney yet.

Well I guess I will: Jadeveon Clowney

Vince Carter has a very very strong HOF case. What are you smoking

I think he's saying that Carter had GOAT raw talent and didn't come close to fully utilizing it.

Barkley could've been even better had he lost 30lbs.

What's dumb about it?

If someone has GOAT level talent, if you don't come close to being the GOAT then you haven't fully utilized that talent.

He's certainly not a failure and his career isn't over, but I think Matthew Stafford hasn't and won't come close to fully exercising his potential.

Bo Jackson. If only he didn't have such fragile hips he could have gone down as one of the greats.

Man, how many colleges did Tito enroll in?

1- John Williams ate his way out of the NBA

2- LSU should bring back those uniforms.

Len Bias was the first person I thought of.

After him I thought of several people who had good to great pro careers but they were cut short due to injury: Bo Jackson, Penny Hardaway, and Grant Hill.

Then there are the boneheads who couldn't keep their heads on straight and didn't try hard enough or got in trouble. I think there are hundreds of these guys.
