Agreed that there won't be a tie. While I'm a Rockets fan and think that both guys are deserving, I give the slight edge to Westbrook. Averaging a triple double while also having significantly more PPG (2.5), rebounds (2.6), and only behind in Assists by 1.0 while playing about two minutes less per game on a much less talented team.
Also, OKC has gone 8-2 in their last 10 and now has a respectable enough record to support an MVP.

Oh Westbrook will be the first guy I congratulate after James. Great great season. But harden is having the best offensive season maybe ever. And his team is leaps and bounds better. Even if you say harden has more talent it's not a big enough disparity to make up for Houston being on a different planet as a team than OKC.

I'm not a professional statistician but the odds gotta be worse than 1 in 10,000. Maybe someone can assist.

So we can maybe narrow it down to 10 potential candidates to get a vote, estimate the likelihood that each one would get a vote each one of the 5 places, and then do a bunch of simulations (say 100,000) and see how many times it results in a tie.

Yep. The number of possible ballots is endless. Even if you say only 10 players will receive any votes and 6 of those player will receive only 5th place votes the chances of it ending up tied with over 100 pollsters is minuscule.

The NBA is having all kinds of record broken this year, why not have the first tie vote for MVP.

Jordan basically from the 1987-1988 season through the 1992-1993 season trumps anything Harden has done this year.
