Don't know anything about WM since I am from NO but this seems to be the issue with many high school programs.

A NOLA school had a hired coach walk away from the bargaining table a few years back when he realized one of the guys at the table wanted his kid to be a QB...

The WM situation looks like the boosters wanted their boy Schexnaider back and Blankenship was in the way. I saw the article where the principal said it was Blankenship's decision to resign, but this just doesn't seem to be that way. High School sports is out of control! How long before Shake is announced as new coach?

Just confirmed from a player...he was forced to resign one way or another. The parents of a particular player led the charge by saying Blankenship berated and verbally abused some of the kids.....several players were called in and questioned about the matter.
Now after that happened of course Blankenship may have just said frick it I'm not dealing with this(which is what i would have done) or he was forced out....either way it's more petty WM baseball parent horse shite!! My friend whose son plays said his son liked playing for him and that several players are very disappointed, the guy could flat out coach.

WM baseball seems to have alot of drama. Also does not help his case team had an average record and lost 1st rd of playoffs. A school the size of WM should be stacked every year.

The parents I talked to haven't heard any rumors regarding Shake, this move would have gone down regardless of his availability.....FWIW, the 2 sets of parents I talked don't think Shake would be good hire.

It really didn't have anything to do with Shake as far as everything I've heard from coaches and parents. I've heard about this for a while now, back before Shake was let go from ULM. I wonder how long they'll take to name a replacement. I have a feeling it might take a while, maybe not until right before school.

They're wrong. Shake produced before at WM and being a college coach since leaving definitely didn't hurt his abilities. He would be a great choice. I'm not sure he even wants the job though.

Tim O'Neal has my vote. Great baseball coach.

Yes i agree JJ, Shake would slide back in very nicely.....I also think O'neal should get the first call, I've heard several people say he's the best coach in the area....just throwing another name out there, what about Rushworth over at St Fred? He is an alum, i guarantee he would take it

O'neal coached that Thunder team to several state titles and some really big wins against teams across the nation. I've watched him make some amazing calls to just pull runs out of thin air. I think Tim would be a home run hire.

If yall thought Blankenship was an a-hole wait till you get a taste of O'Neal.

Been around him for 6-7 years. Guy knows baseball. Saban's an a-hole. Belichick's an a-hole. Larussa's an a-hole. Just win.

Most liked that but the few who want to run everything hated him.

I honestly don't know how anyone coaches high school baseball these days. Parents think because they pay money for their kid to play travel ball that means little Johnny is going to be All State.

Id get fired for cussing.

I wouldn't say O'Neal is an a-hole, maybe kind of a smart arse, well, same thing somewhat. I played for him over a decade ago and he was an awesome coach. He knows his stuff but heard when he was at Ruston a lot of parents may not have liked him. My dad wasn't a booster club dugout coach so he never made comments to me about my coaches. I loved O'Neal as a coach though.

Wasn't Blankenships record at WM like 54-49 for the last 3 years?
