Surprising even though they did have a poor season.

Coach Shake needs a job. Wouldn't WM take him back considering his son will be a senior this upcoming year?

Any West Monroe people got the scoop?

my friend has a son that plays for WM, said he is very knowledgeable but is pretty tough on the kids....also says he has zero involvement with parents and doesn't even allow parents on the facility unless it's an emergency(which i think is awesome, BUT with that philosophy he had to win big to keep the big whiny boosters at bay.....seems he didn't do enough

I've heard a few things. Basically it just wasn't going to work out. Personalities clashing. I'd love to have Shake back. WM went to the state tournament every year it seemed like when he was here.

They had a good coach in Sims but let him go because he didn't listen to one connected parent who didn't like his kid sitting the bench.

When Sims was at Hahnville he didn't associate with the parents. Most liked that but the few who want to run everything hated him.

He didn't play daddy ball or politics and put the best people out there. Beat STM and Barbe in the same weekend so they were a good enough team had they peaked at the right time they could've made a run. He won't have any problems finding anywhere else to go.

Don't know anything about WM since I am from NO but this seems to be the issue with many high school programs.

The town revolves around that school, so it's probably worse than you think.

It had 0 to do with boosters from everything I've been told. Personalities clashed and it just wasn't going to work. Hate it because he's a good coach.

Booster clubs are essential for fundraising and doing other things for the programs but can be bad when things aren't going well. Having been on the board of one the last 4 years, it never amazes me what some parents will do or want from the coaches. Had to deal with one mother this year who felt the team (soccer) should not be playing games during the week because the kids would get home too late. Most of our matches were within 30-45 minutes away and over by 8:30; the kids didn't have to stop for food because we provide po-boys, chips, fruit, and drinks for them when they get on the bus.
