Balls are the cheapest part of golf

Just like shotgun shells are the cheapest part of duck hunting

Never be afraid to sling a little steel to see if they are actually in range.

While a good ball is certainly not cheap, I hate spending a bunch of time looking for one in the weeds or woods. I've seen people spend 5 minutes looking for fricking X-outs.

How do these Srixon balls that y'all are talking about compare price wise to the 20XI's and ProV1's of the world?

Since I'm back at my parents house for the rest of summer, we live right on a golf course. It's a typical Kansas course that is fairly tight with native grass all around the edges the entire course. Maybe once a week since I have been back I put my jeans and hunting boots on and grab the ball retriever. Probably found 50 ProV's in the last 2 weeks that are good as new. I've done that since I was a little kid and can't fathom dropping $50 on a dz balls.

They are less, and you can usually find a buy 2 dozen get 1 dozen

I'll put my little bro in the honey spots we have at the bluffs and see what we can shake loose.

When I was like 7-10 years old I used to chip around on the greens waiting for groups to come. It got to the point that they knew I was there and I would sell ProV's, Callaway Tours, and other balls to the guys. I'm sure they were buying out of courtesy but it wasn't a bad way for a young kid to make some quick cash.

Buying balls is probably the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around when it comes to golf expenses.

Makes a big difference thought IMO.

My high school girlfriend's little brother did that. He had buckets he'd sit out behind their house.

He's going to play at Memphis, and his friend down the street signed with South Carolina to play.

The old guys used to always laugh because I would find a Top Flite or a Pinnacle and just throw it back in the water. I knew there was no money to be made there.

Now that I'm older my dad kicks himself a bit for not pressing golf a little harder. I played highly competitive baseball all the way up to college and it hurt my game a bit. Had the resources and natural ability, just didn't dedicate the time. Our course alone has sent kids to KU, KSU, Ok State, OU, etc.

I figure if I ever have kids they'll probably end up picking up the game since the course will be my office.

Chattanooga has had some good players come out lately. Brooke Pancake

I bought 5 boxes of the taylormade tour preferred. Some regular and some x. At $20 a box you can't beat that deal. I would buy again at regular price. Won't need to for quite some time.

Saw a commercial yesterday for Watts with a deal on Srixon's buy 2 dozen get 1 free. Not sure which exact balls.
