Not trying to be a dick here, but I see posts like this a lot in the golf threads. How in the frick can you "not really be playing at all" and just walk onto a course and shoot 77 "from the tips"? It just seems like complete bullshite to me. Did you play golf on a college team? Former professional?

My dad (played small college golf) is 55 and literally plays 4-7 times a year now. He will shoot between 75-80 walking out to the course, stretching, and taking a few putts.

It's sick how much muscle memory he has with his swing over the last 40 years.

I couldn't hit a ball to the left to save my life last season...now I'm trying to fight off a snap hook.

I played for the first time in a month and shot 75 but on the other hand, I could practice every day for a month and prob still shoot the same thing. That's why golf is a strange game.

Yea I guess that's why I asked the question about being a former college/high school player. That I can understand... if you played competitive golf, then for several years at some point in your life you probably were practicing and/or playing every single day. I can see how you wouldn't drop off much... certainly your knowlegde of the game doesn't go away... maybe you lose some flexibility or power but not much else.
