I can understand wearing like your favorite college teams stuff to a major league sports game to show like where you are from.
Like I've worn LSU stuff to Rangers and Astros games, but if its two teams in the same league and you are wearing another team in that leagues stuff its pretty dumb. I went watch Arkansas play Toledo and didn't feel the need to wear purple and Gold. I wore red, blended in and even chimed in on a WPS

Out of the 20 or so Ranger games I've been to I swear to God I always see someone wearing a Yankee or Cubs hat/jersey and I just think, "what a freaking poor, can't afford shite for the actual team's he's here to watch."
If you wear something from a professional team that isn't one of the two playing, all you're doing is begging for attention. There is no other explanation for it. No one cares who you cheer for if that team isn't personally playing in that location.

College is totally different. You spent time at the institution and PAID money to be a part of it.
For instance, my girlfriend went to OU. I WILL NEVER go to an OU sporting event to begin with, but if I did, I would wear Baylor shite and cheer blatantly against them just to piss everyone off around me. She knows better than to ever even ask me to do anything regarding OU athletics.

I went to sugar bowl when Michigan and VT played. LSU was in the NC. I think I wore a white LSU polo. We were in michigan section so it fit in. I dont wear jerseys and stuff though. Im sure I had an LSU hat on

I wouldn't wear a jersey to a game but if I'm just hanging out drinking/cooking on a Saturday or Sunday watching Saints or LSU I'll throw on that teams jersey.

See, this is cool because it's only being used to show what college team you support/attended and/or where your from. It doesn't take away from the two teams that are playing.
