thats what happens when you lowball the guy who carried your team. he doesn't deserve 20mil+ annually, but at least 50-60mil guaranteed...

It's obvious that his time at Denver is almost done. They refuse to pay players what they are worth.

I took this to mean they are going to get a long-term deal done.

He'll play under the tag if that's what it comes to, they all say this and then they all end up playing.

I agree, but this shouldn't be as difficult as it's been. Just give the guy his $50mil+ guaranteed.

Playing with a tag has to be one of the dumber things a player can do

Just another example of what a joke the NFLPA is. A baseball or basketball player of his caliber would have hundreds of millions guaranteed right now and this guy can't even get 35% of his contract guaranteed

Because principles win Super Bowls

That's what I'd do too, it's not worth paying any player other than a QB that kind of guaranteed money.

ETA: Von Miller is the best pass rusher in the league.

yeah the NFL makes about as much revenue as the NBA and MLB combined and the players get paid shite compared to both of those leagues, even with roster size taken into account

100% agree and sad considering football players are put in much more dangerous situations than any other sport

I mean, isn't this the NFL players' fault for agreeing to the CBA?

MLBPA and NBAPA got guaranteed contracts squared away a long time ago and NFLPA never did

Pay him his guaranteed money while we're getting QB play on the cheap, then restructure when it's time to pony up for hopefully a fully developed Paxton Lynch.

No, players do.

This is why dynasties are so hard to build in the modern era, once your team starts winning you have to pay over value to keep that winning core together.

That is why the only consistently great team is the Patriots- Tom Brady agreed to take less money than he was worth.

It isn't Von's fault that Denver won't pay. It is his decision if its worth taking a pay cut to stay there.
