To coach at any public university, you have to have at least a college degree. There was an intersting situation at Oregon a few years ago when they hired an AD with no degree. The AD is not required, but the coaches are.

Yeah. And a guy ULL hired before Robert Lee got busted for this too.

Why are these guys not vetted previous to their first job?

Wasn't it this firm that got $60 thousand that would have submitted his name for the search in the first place?

All kinds of fail in this one. Any person who follows basketball in March knows who the rising stars are. You shouldn't need a consulting firm to figure it out. And you can pay a lot less for a background check to make sure he's not a slimeball.

How do you spend 4 years as a walk on athlete and not get a degree? You know he had to be on campus during the summer months. He could have gotten a general studies degree in 2 and 1/2 years.

USF did the right thing here. Disappointed because I really liked Masiello but USF took the high road and I agree with the move.
