Yeah, they don't look good but that's the way they always are there. The USGA even had to "mark" where the greens are this week because you can't tell if a ball is on the green or fairway

I guess it's a good thing NBC isn't televising the event. I suspect Johnny wouldn't like the course and we would hear it constantly.

I'm putting my money on the guys who grew up playing shitty muni tracks. These country club boys and their perfect bent grass greens don't stand a chance on these greens.

They should have just played Bayou Barriere then.

I just saw Andy North, 2 time Open winner on ESPN. He doesn't like the course. They have two holes that can play as either a 4 or 5. The players won't know par for the two holes until they pick up their scorecards.

What causes this course to look like shite?

If the greens are really in as bad as shape as that one pictured.....I would give the advantage to a Euro player or even some no name player. I think the courses on the American tour are some of the best kept courses in the world.
Any player who criticizes the conditions has pretty much taken themselves mentally out of the running. I think the American pro golfers tend to be spoiled with the playing conditions week-in and week-out.
I think this opens the door for a Euro player or very young American pro.

Greatest test of golf in the World.

Those greens look awful & players will be bitching all week. The course doesn't look great on TV either from the few shots I've seen. I'd rather see lush green courses than ones like this and Pinehurst a few years ago. Guess we are just spoiled by the masters

Can't wait to watch Bubba stare at his ball in bewilderment for 5 seconds, then roll his eyes at his caddie when he misses putts all week

I'm sad we don't have Miller this year.

Making a mixture of bent, poa and fescue greens about 13/14 on the stimp by shaving the hell out of them, that poa will be real bad in the afternoons just like Pebble.

Joining them as the main broadcasters are former pros Steve Flesch and Brad Faxon as hole announcers, former US Open champ Corey Pavin as a studio analyst, two-time US Women’s Open champ Julie Inkster as on-course reporter and analyst, and Irish journalist Shane O’Donoghue as host. Former USGA exec David Fay also will join the Fox team as a rules analyst.
Highlighted names for the group of 20 include former British Open champ and longtime broadcaster Tom Weiskopf, LPGA stars Natalie Gulbis and Morgan Pressel, as well as other Fox broadcasters like Curt Menefee, Tim Brando, Joel Klatt, and Charles Davis.
