Before you down vote congrats to our champion Mr. Koepka who I believe would of won this tournament anywhere but that's not the point. If you believe the US Open should be shot under par by 31 players then you have no understanding of what the Open is suppose to represent. The Open is suppose to be the standard for the the toughest round of golf in the world.

Moreover, we might as well be playing the Dural Open folks. I have no problem with our champion being under par. The point is the US Open is suppose to grind players down to even par golf or lower and before you take a swipe go look at the leaderboards from 2008 and before. What we continue to see is game bending the STANDARDS of the US Open and the USGA complying by bending & failing to challenge the players to the historic/ highest standards of the Open.

The USGA has become a doormat for the players and it isn't doing its job anymore. I don't blame all the players for what we saw this weekend but the Kevin Na's of the world complaining about the course as if they are entitled to Even par or better is a disgrace to the players before them. British Opens should be forever be played with no wind and Masters off the ladies tee box to accommodate modern players and TV ratings.

What this past weekend represents is the failure to uphold traditions and norms. The US Open is now just another tour event. Congrats to those that disagree that -16 winners should become the norms at the Open.

Yeah, Kevin Na can suck a dick. And watching the US Open turn into the Zurich is tough to watch.

Dumbass

There will be another Open at Erin Hills

Next time they move the tees up on 2 par 5s and they become 4s.

You do that the winner is -5 or something

And it rained a lot, kept it soft, cant plan for that.

The Open is the one in the U.K. fwiw.

But this will not be the norm. Next 3 are Shinnecock, Pebble, and Winged Foot. Those won't even be close to -16.

I think you'd be quite upset if you looked back at winning scores from 1990 til now

Agree with this as well. I think the USGA made a poor course selection for this US Open more than anything. Still on the USGA though.

This is the first time they've had it at Erin Hills and they didn't know how it would respond. The course is flexible. They'll tweak it next time and it'll be fine.

Stop being a melodramatic count.

All I've heard is how awesome this tournament is and the praise of the low scores. Go to Wingfoot where the past 4 winners have been +5, -4, +7, +2, +7

It's an 11 year old course. Let's let is marinate for a while before we talk about "next time"

I think it has more to do with the fact that these dudes can carry a fricking 3 wood 300 yards and hit it 350+ off the tee.

Rickie Fowler isn't even considered a long hitter by tour standards and he went 3wood long iron into a fricking 660 yard hole.

What should they do make them play on 9000 yard courses?

Dumbass, no it's not suppose to be played on these BS courses without some sort of PGA challenge beforehand. If you don't understand the US Open then I understand but don't post your ignorant defense of this because this is the "courses first time" at me.

Again, the Champion would have won on any course imo, but this wasn't to the standard of a US Open.

The players love it, USGA loves it, and USGA wants a regular course in the rotation from the Midwest. It's going to be back at Erin Hills. You might as well accept it now.

I don't think you understand how great these golfers are. To get scores that low under par is incredible. Koepka had an AMAZING weekend, a record breaking weekend actually. It's not like this is the norm though. The US Open is still one of the toughest and most competitive tournaments in golf.

Well no shite because past players will be ripping the USGA for not doing their jobs. I have no idea why you monkeys want to give them a pass. This tournament sucked!!!

This kind of falls into the original point. The top 10 US open from par scoring in history will be littered with 2017 Erin Hills scores.
