OSU put up 50 points on perhaps the greatest defensive dynasty in the last twenty five years on Saturday.

I would say the toughest defense Oregon faced was OSU under Tressel. That includes 2011 LSU.

It's wasn't a stretch to think this was exactly what would happen when they hired him. He's built the closest thing to an SEC team in that league, which oustide of MSU is Chess v Checkers.

Not a fan or apologist, but he's a proven guy running a stout program in a luke warm conference.

to be fair, its pretty fascinating how hard the media attempted to sell Michigan States defense as being elite this season

Well, they do have a top 10 defense in YPG. But yeah, they've been exposed.

Michigan State lost too much over two years. They are going to be great next season. I am not looking forward to that game in East Lansing. Hopefully Cooks moves on.

What makes you say that?

Langford is gone.

Conner Cook is very average.

Shalique Calhoun might go pro.

quite misleading considering their schedule (jax state and eastern mich - just LOL)

advanced stats rank them at #57, which is about right LINK

Already trying to talk up their marquee OOC game.

I don't know enough about MSU's young players but assuming the players leave that are expected to, they will be just meh.

Ohio State on the other hand

Malik McDowell almost came to Ohio State. He was the freshman DL #5.

He was a 5 star all-everything in HS. He would have fit in really well here and would have been the nest stud DL from Ohio State.

Coached AAU basketball against McDowell. Big fricker. Nice footwork for such a big kid.

Saw that. Above average teams lose 59-0 all the time.
