Am I the only one who opened this thread thinking "nasal strip" was the name of some horse?

I guess not.

Oh, and speaking of racing controversies, I finally got around to reading up on the Big Brown and IEAH fiasco, and all I can say is wow, does anyone who was around the races at that time think he WASN'T running on something, not just the WInstrol? Those were some SHADY connections! I happened to be at CD about two weeks before the Derby in 2009 on the backstretch briefly, and now I know why the guy I was with kept saying, but he is a really nice guy in reference to Dutrow. Now, I sort of wonder if they were "encouraged" to scratch I Want Revenge because the stewards and the barn had a good idea he may not pass post race tests.

They can if they want to.

And if the Belmont holds fast on this, they deserve the total irrelevance to which they doom themselves. Throwing away a chance at huge viewership just may convince the networks that the race isn't worth carrying anymore.

If no nasal strip then bargain for deer antler spray.

If California Chrome's ownership group (named Dumbass Partners) don't run their horse in the Belmont due to this nasal strip issue than they are aptly named. I think Sherman's quote is being taking a little too seriously. It's a non-issue.

Right call.

Really it was. I couldn't believe how blown out of proportion after I got off of the golf course and saw how big of a deal people were making of it.

Now that that is out is the way let's speculate on his chances of winning.
I think if he is not pressed and can sit behind the pace and wait for Victor to press the button he would be ok. He has to break well. I am not a seasoned handicapper so that may not make sense at all.

Social inclusion may go met mile. If he's out, then samraat and chrome are the only real pace. As long as they don't duel they may get away with slow fractions.

I think if CC gets a pace on the slower end like he did in the Kentucky Derby then he has a good chance to win at Belmont. If he gets a quicker pace like he did in the Preakness then I have my doubts about him winning. I'm definitely pulling for him.
