Injury free, I agree. This guy has really impressed me the last year. But the report last week was he had a hip injury and was having trouble with his mobility. Hip injuries usually don't just heal. Either need some extensive time off or surgery.

Yeah, Kei's injury proneness* is unfortunate because he's a damn good player who certainly has enough game to win a major or two if only he can stay completely healthy for seven consecutive 3 of 5 set matches.

I think CBS coverage is no more and it's all ESPN, with some Tennis Channel supplemental.

Pretty sure everything is on ESPN/ESPN2 this year.

Fed has to be on the list, but as I've said in the other GS post, I just can't see him winning another GS in a 3 out of 5 format.

Djok is so tough to beat 3 out of 5 as he is the best. If he gets upset like last year Fed is the favorite IMO. Maybe im biased but Federer has played so well on hard court this year and after being upset fairly early at the Aussie i expect to see him deep into the second week.

ESPN is the worst at doing tennis instant replays.

Idiots complaining about Nadal's draw relative to Federer's draw fail to understand seeding. Nadal is no longer a top player so he has a harder road to finals.

You are right. Some are forgetting that while one is #2, the other is not #1 or #3 anymore.

And even when they were both in the top 3, both ended up getting on the short stick of bad draws. It has happened to everyone.

All that said, Djoker has ha an incredible 2 years. But Federer, at age 34, isn't that far behind. What he has done in 2014 and 2015 is pretty amazing IMO, as he has taken his game to a higher level after slightly dipping in the recent years. There was a point about 3 years ago where I thought Federer should just hang it up and walk away before ruining his legacy. Changing rackets, as well as Nadal's decline, have helped launch Federer back into the top 2.

Nadal v. Coric should be the best opening round match of the tournament tonight.

Yeah, it's pretty exciting. I am usually bored by the first few days with bad matchups and because they used to hold some first round matches until Wednesday. But, we have Nadal/Coric tonight and should have Kyrgios/Murray tomorrow night. So, that's

It probably doesn't matter, but Maria has withdrawn.

Well, we all anticipated disaster for the fourth seeded Nishikori, and it happened. He got a tough draw against Paire, who is playing well, and lost in five sets.

So who's the favorite to come out of that quarter now? Weren't he and Cilic in the same one?

I love watching some Coco. She just has a style of tennis that is fun to watch. I hope she makes a nice run here. Bummer to have that many American women bunched up in that part of the draw.

This chick playing Serena might have the worst pro serve I've ever seen. It makes Errani and Bartoli look fluid.

Does the USTA or WTA set the draw? There's no way that the USTA would put Vandeweghe Stephens in first round.

Also what has Mary Jo done? She is more appealing to the viewers tonight.

The draw is exactly that... a draw. Meaning it's random, regardless of who conducts it.

Having read some of the Wimbledon thread, apparently no one cares about the US Open? Also, what the hell is Nadal wearing?
