UCONN has four national titles since 1999

Most by any team in that span, with Duke/UNC/Florida with 2 each
Is the fact that those 4 titles are spread out is what is keeping them from being mentioned as one of the best programs in the country? UNC/UK/Kansas/Duke still get more respect nationwide as a power program

final fours, conference titles, continued success across decades are all reasons why. the are a very legitimate tier 2 though.

it's weird. I guess between the titles their team never really excels. When they come alive, they are strong, obviously. They have had a few teams not make the tourney at all. The academic thing didn't help either.

They're moving close to tier 1, to me.
They've been good for, what, 25 years now?
That's a long arse time. And they win when it matters.
There's the Big 6, and then there's UConn right on their heels.

They are exactly like LSU baseball. Came on to the scene late, but flat dominated once they were there.

that's like exactly what i said you douche

Calling them Tier 2 is such a load of BS. They've won 4 titles since 1999. That's Tier 1 material.

I def consider UConn a powerhouse in bball.

UCONN has more real national championships than Kansas now.

Consider the fact that Kansas and Kentucky only have won one championship in that time frame. UCLA hasn't won a national championship since 1995. Duke has two in that time frame, but also two losses to Mercer and Lehigh.
UConn is college basketball royalty at this point.
and their graduation rate reflects that.

How is that not successful?

Uconn is absurd come tournament time, and especially the final four. I think they're 8-0 in final four games all time. The anti-lsu

Pretty much.
Just as many tourney appearances as pretty much all the blue bloods. As many final fours. More NCs.
I mean really at this point you're splitting hairs over conference championships and "past history". IMO, NC > CC.
More NC than Kansas, who suck their own dick more than any team in CBB. As many as UNC. 1 less than Duke. Way less than Kentucky but they only have 3 in the last 35 years. IDK what else they need to do.

So Uconn needs to make, and lose, a few Final Fours to compete? Pffft, when they get there, they win. UConn is 8-1 in the Final 4 and have beaten Kentucky twice and Duke twice IN THE F4
