Rumor is that Arnie Fielkow has not been granted an interview for this job because the Bensons used their financial leverage to dissuade Tulane from pursuing Fielkow. Gayle Benson is on the Tulane Board.
Whether this is true or not is debatable. The fact that possibly the most qualified candidate has not been granted an interview, or been considered as a finalist, is embarrassing for Tulane. That part is not in question.

This is true also Mitch Landrieu put pressure on Tulane too to eliminate him as a candidate. Sad because he would have been a great AD

That presentation by Fielkow is very amateurish. Looks like a high school kid put it together for a project. No wonder he didn't get an interview.
