Trump's Presidential Run has Fractured NFL Locker Rooms, Caused Racial Tension

Interviews by B/R Mag with dozens of NFL players about Trump over the past four months reveal that scenes of a divided America sparked by the candidate have been replicated inside at least a half-dozen locker rooms of its most popular sport. Some players cite low-level confrontations. Others say friendships have ended. Many see a toughness that could cross political boundaries and a business acumen that’s attractive to the likes of Tom Brady, only for the candidate’s racial bluster to spark more outrage. At least one coach has insisted there be no more player discussions of Trump—not a ban on politics in general, just Trump—while on team property.
Four weeks into the NFL season and four weeks from Election Day, amid an increasingly politicized league confronting on-field protests every Sunday, a straw poll of 43 players by B/R Mag shows:
20 of 22 black NFL players plan to vote for Hillary Clinton.
2 of 22 black NFL players plan to vote for Donald J. Trump.
21 of 21 white NFL players plan to vote for Trump.
In a league that is predominantly black, but where anything-goes banter is encouraged and racial lines can be blurred, perhaps the most striking finding in the interviews over the course of the general election is what’s been left unsaid. “Black guys will talk about it to each other,” ESPN analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion Damien Woody said of Trump. “White guys may talk about it to each other. But I think white players will tap around it with black players.
“The locker room normally isn’t politically correct,” Woody said. “I know from talking to players things are different when it comes to Trump.”
Woody explained that white players were hesitant to talk about Trump because “a white player may parrot something Trump says, and the black player may think, ‘Oh, that’s how you feel?’ And it could cause problems.”

So some of the players are so brainwashed that they dislike white players for supporting Trump? How stupid can someone be?

I read that sorry excuse for an article earlier today.
Author provides a few anecdotes, a ridiculous poll, and extrapolates that to the entire NFL being "fractured" on the issue.
It's the epitomy of a Bleacher Report article with a side of CNN ownership. Which happens to be where it got its front page "exposure".
And I say this as solidly #nevertrump

Guess they have yet to realize they've already made it off the "plantation". Another thing they realize - considering they're so hell bent on squeezing every penny from an organization that they can - Hillary will tax the frick out of them so your $10M a year just became 6.5m net.
Any of the players names were mentioned?

You really have to ask baw?

Yep, 'cause Hillary has nothing to do with all the race baiting going on.

That's why you shouldn't talk about politics in public. I've heard shite like that happen before - there was some crap with the Browns a few years ago where guys were bickering about Obama-McCain. You're not going to change anybody's mind anyhow, you'll just irk the ever living piss out of them by bringing the crap up.

Rex Ryan

Matt Light
Richie Incognito
Shockingly, none of the Clinton supporters were named though.

Fricking pathetic. Maybe we should have a one party state so no one gets their feelings hurt.

I wad playing in college during Obama's first run
We had black players going around all the time asking who the white players voted for including me. They even would ask the coaches. My position coach said its nobody's business. I was honest and said I voted for John McCain but it was awkward

That's disappointing. Was hoping someone had the balls to go 3rd party.

I would like to wager that more black players will vote for trump. They might not say it, but i know more than 2 out of 22 will vote for him.
When some get that money, they begin to see more of the real world, and take off those Democratic shill goggles
And i'm not a trump voter, i'm Brewsters MIllion it.

Did anyone ask you about your stupid spreadsheets?

We can go ahead and add this shite to the list entitled "Things I don't give a frick about".
Why does anyone care what these guys think about anything? They are paid to play football, not influence how we see political candidates.

the only black NFL player I know of that is probably voting for Trump is Ben Watson

Democrats like to act like they're the tolerant ones when really they're the complete opposite.
Unfortunately Dems are also better at the political game so...
