Ya he is way more impressive, while still being entertaining, than anyone we have seen in a long time but I wouldn't call him the best......not even close

I guess you didnt watch Roy Jones Jr.

best opponent available like Floyd has been able to do

Only boxing ignorant people say this. Floyd has beaten every good boxer of this generation. Paq, cotto, mosley, canelo, hatton, gatti, corrales, judah, marquez, de la hoya. There isnt a boxer close to his weight class he hasnt beaten.

I would love to see a Michael Carbajal V Chocolitto fight if both in primes that would have been a war nobody would've not stopped throwing punches.

The greatest ever in his prime IMHO

He has held on much too long and it's gonna kill him but in his prime, there wasn't a better showman or fighter for my money

Agreed. The angles Roy could deliver KO punches is unmatched IMO. Truly a master to watch in his prime.

Re Floyd: Yes, he did in fact beat those fighters (although I thought Oscar won their fight) he did dodge many of those same fighters until they were past their prime. Plus, his style is just painful to watch.

Floyd was older than 80% of those fighters. He destroyed the great up and comer Canelo.its not all on floyd that him and paq didnt fight until later.

Not if you love the science of boxing. The bottomline of boxing is to land as many punches while not being hit. Its not Floyd's fault that the people he fights cant hit him. He would be dumb to stand and trade when he make people miss and get and get out quicker. He is the one of the best defensive fighters of all time and the best counter puncher of our era. why would a smart boxer go away from his strengths?

I LOVED watching Roy Jones Jr but his prime took place in the last millennium. Ya he was good for the first few years of this one, especially when he beat Ruiz, but that was still well over 10 years ago.

GGG is good, but as others have said, we just don't know until the competition increases. I was high on David Lemieux but he didn't even come close to annoying GGG. But the fight this weekend, come on!! That dude was the bum of the week collecting a check. He was skinny yet had love handles. Hopefully we will get to see alverez/ggg, but ggg will be 35 by the time it could happen. Alverez will dispose of Kahn.

I'm 32 years old. I started watching boxing seriously, or at least more serious than not at all lol, when Jermain Taylor became pro, as i half arse knew him from some local experiences and knew he was trying to make it as a professional. since then, i've been a pretty avid follower, i watch boxing after dark / hbo boxing religiouly and have a pretty good grasp of all the good boxers since then and honestly think he's pound for pound the best iv'e seen

no i haven't seen Sonny Liston go 12 rounds against whoever and frick neither have you either so shut the frick up.

to be more specific, i think he's better than the following group of boxers

Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Manny Pacquiao
Oscar De La Hoya
Winky Wright
Sugar Shane
Cotto
Felix Triandad
Jermaine Taylor (sorry jermaine lol)
Benard Hopkins
the white dude in UK that got the shite beat out of him

ward would literally rather give up his titles and switch divisions than fight triple GGG lol.

and floyd "money" is such a bitch, he then tells triple GR that he has to fight a dude who just moved up in divisions to avoid fighting him, that he has to beat him first, before he will consider fighting him.

Floyd is technically superior to GGG but does not change the fact that if they got in the ring GGG would stomp the ever living shite out of him. he doesn't hit hard enough to stop GGG from coming at him and floyd has never in his life been hit by anyone with close the amount of punching power that GGG has. all his defensive tactics only work when you're afraid of being countered. when you don't give a shite about him countering anything you do it really doesn't matter how effective his defense is. GGG is int eh ring and letting MIDDLEWEIGHTS hit him directly on the chin just to show them that they can't hurt him.. what do you think he's going to do when a guy moving up 2 divisions is throwing love taps at him? the ONLY chance he has is if GGG comes down to 154. ONLY. and hope some of his power is gone.

GGG has never, EVER hit the canvas. not once. not amateur. not pro. not so much as slipped. not so much as gotten shite in his eye and got lost and ran into the belt by accident and lost his footing. Being able to avoid being hit is a great skill. Being able to get hit directly on the chin, not blink, move forward and still deliver a punch is an even greater skill.

there is a reaosn they had to pay ward 500k to step in the ring with triple G. to take a 2 round arse whipping.

and to you guys who get pissy someone uses the word figher and not boxer STFU no one is ever going to take your sport seriously.

You obviously value KOing tomato cans over beating quality opposition. Lemieux is GGG's best win and he had already been beaten twice (stopped once) by average fighters.

Btw, please give us specifics on why GGG is better than those names mentioned. I can't wait to hear this.

I bet Deontay Wilder is your #1 heavyweight all time since he knocks out bums every time he gets in the ring.

Better than this guy or this guy?

Have you ever watched Joe Louis or Sugar Ray Robinson fight? Sweet, precision, perfect, violence.
