He is knowledgeable, but terrible in the booth.

Every single play he commented on it sounded like he thought the entire audience was aspiring 12 year old QB's

Dammit, Trent.

I can't hate him, though. Dude has been through too much.

The editing of the clip makes it seem like he was saying stupid. The context of the fact that HE IS TRENT DILFER, epitomical game manager, should help with understanding that.

He is saying You can "Not Lose" games in the NFL and still win. Like as a QB, you dont have to win the game if your team is really good, you just have to not lose them.

So did most people. Those spread/no huddle QBs have pretty much never worked in the NFL. So he's wrong on Mariotta so he's now an idiot...

There was a time where RG3 looked like a world beater. Same with Vince Young. Spread guys often look pretty good starting off in the league. Then defenses typically adjust.

It's going to take more than one game vs the worst team in football for people to be right or wrong about Mariota.

Mariota has played one regular season game...it's a little early to say he'll be successful.

He also stands with his legs about 4 feet apart to presumably draw attention to his nutsack. Like it seriously should be part of an SNL sketch.

They were awful. I can't believe that ESPN doesn't have a better second string.
